Discussion: Dem Rep. Uses NRSC's Offensive Tweet To Tout Work For Vets

Discussion for article #247149

Great, substantive response. I’d like to see someone of this caliber be the V.P. nominee.

I recall how that POS saxbe chamblilss trashed Max Cleland, in a Georgia Senate race. It was a national disgrace, but the crackers in GA elected chambliss - what a worthless human being! Just as Tammy D lost limbs serving her country, Mr. Cleland lost three limbs in service to his country. And, if memory serves, had run the VA for awhile before running for the US Senate. What a step down: from a natl hero like Cleland, to a piece of scum like chambliss! Sic 'em, Tammy: the truth will out!

My thoughts exactly, she would make a great VP!

Go get’em, Tammy. You have courage and integrity and truth on your side, and we have your back.

“NRSC deleted a tweet that Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran and double amputee, ‘has a sad record of not standing up for our veterans’….”

Senate Republicans?

The folks who cut $857 million from the VA in October?

One day after they let long-term healthcare benefits expire for 70,000 victims and first responders of 9/11?

No conscience. No shame. No soul.

Hey Joni Ernst, you ran an entire campaign trumpeting your service in the armed forces and how you were going to change Washington (cutting the balls off Washington politicians, using a pig metaphor made famous in your ads). Thank you so much for showing your true colors. This Iowan isn’t surprised one bit…it would be nice if other Iowans, who either stayed home or bought into your bullshit, would get the message that you are nothing more than a shill for the Republican Party using your service to further your political career.

Sadly, there’s a lot of that going around.

Ugh.

Of course! What better way to keep southern and midwestern veterans angry at the government and Dems?

While the NRSC tweet was met with nearly universal condemnation,
the committee defended its attack on Duckworth in a statement to TPM
and slammed the media for covering the story.

Doubling-down on a mistake that was already admitted by deleting the tweet.

“and slammed the media for covering the story”

“Yeah! It’s that stoopid media for reporting what we say. Cuz we know if some dem said this about a republican paraplegic vet, we would be perfectly fine with it.”

Some days I think that the GOP are all secretly pod people from invasion of the body snatchers…

Every time an offensive tweet is deleted, an intern gets their wings.

To literally add insult on to injury Chambliss hurt his knee playing college football and used it as an excuse for a medical deferment during Vietnam.
