Discussion: Debate Commission Now Says Trump Had Audio 'Issues' Monday Night

Eighty-four million (American network) viewers. Only a few hundred lucky souls spared. Sad.

Sniff.

And, if he was having problems, why not just mention it at the time so that perhaps it could be fixed? Or, is that ā€œweakā€?

It only affected the audio in the hallā€¦probably so they didnā€™t have to endure the constant sniffles.

Not really. Itā€™ll only make him more unhinged to find out that he was right, that people were having trouble hearing him. The problem for him is that even if people in the hall had trouble hearing him, the people at home heard him just fine AND, more importantly, it doesnā€™t change what he actually said or what heā€™s said in the days since.

Oh well, they couldnā€™t hear him in the hall, but the point of the debate was the broadcast. 80 million viewers around the world heard him quite clearly. Those in the hall may have not, but they were also instructed to not respond to what was said (although they broke this rule.) I personally do not think there should be any live audiences in the debate halls.

Itā€™s a poor workman who blames his tools.

A wonky mic in the room doesnā€™t make you interrupt your opponent 50+ times. If it did upset you to the point that you made a dumb mistake, that is just another example of how unprepared you are for the office.

Especially when they hoot like rabid chimps at the mention of a debunked ā€œscandalā€

Seems to me I remember hearing that Goreā€™s ā€œsighingā€ was amplified on playback so the NYT could make an issue out of it. That would be interference, not this BS.

Maybe he believes that he said sane and wonderful things, but the minute the words went into the microphone, they got scrambled, issued out of the speakers as old Hitler speeches.

Yeah, true. It doesnā€™t really destroy all the progress for us with him having this awful week. I mean, can he only be a temperamentally fit president if the environment surrounding him is absolutely perfect? Trump canā€™t deal with any diversity whatsoever.

Must have been a Sennheiser SSā€¦ Those damn things I tell ya.

The only thing this changes is that it reinforces the on going grievance of Trump and his committed followers that they are being cheated. Let them caterwaul about their plight. No one beyond the already brain dead is listening to him anymore.

And thatā€™s why the commission decided to say something now.

Taking bets ā€“ will he sue if he loses the election? He said at the debate he would accept the results of the election should Hillary prevail, but I think he is setting the stage for claiming the election was stolen and therefore invalid.

My understanding, based on the debate commissionā€™s previous logic, is that any other source saying his mic didnā€™t have trouble makes this impossible to fact check. So who really knows, amirite?

Next time theyā€™ll be sure to pair him with a microphone sophisticated enough to fully capture the depth his oratorical abilities.

Note that TOGā€™s momma makes an appearance at the :44 mark.

??? I hadnā€™t heard that. Source?

Thatā€™s my first thought. All I think of about it is the Commission has lost any sense of mission whatsoever and sets a bad precedent ā€“ they has given in to his threat regarding moderator selection already, so this one is the second time.

I didnā€™t watch the debate, but Iā€™m sure Trump complained about his audio issues at the time, right?

ā€œMy microphone, in the room they couldnā€™t hear meā€
