Sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence. And sometimes the death of a former administration member’s father by blunt force trauma to the head is a message to everyone else.

Probably just a coincidence.

With Trump’s ties to organized crime, and Cohen’s, we can be reasonably sure that there are bodies. This is probably not one of them, but it may be only a matter of time before others float to the surface.

Just the fact that these suspicions are raised demonstrates how thoroughly corrupt this administration is.

“blunt impact head trauma.”

Yeah, that would be suspicious.

It might be innocent. Old people do fall down and whack their heads in very bad ways. My father did that.

But perhaps this is in some manner that seems not an accident.

The story and headline are misleading. CBS reports that the death has been ruled accidental, and the investigation is looking into possible neglect at the facility. It’s a tragedy for the McMaster family, but probably does not have wider implications than that.

yeah. While “suspicious” is technically accurate because the facility is “suspected” of neglect, the overtones of conspiracy make the headline look like the worst kind of clickbait.

The Trump telenovella will next feature an Old Gypsy Fortune teller, a switched newborn and a deathbed confession…don’t miss it !

How sad. Did he fall out of his bed?

That’s awful. Putting a loved one in a home just to have something like this happen is tragic and heartbreaking.

Russians prefer poison and chemical weapons.

Problem is that you can’t rule anything whatsoever out given the nature of the people we’re dealing with at the moment.

If he fell and hit his head, then there would still be issues with the facility for not reporting or treating.

Seniors absolutely do fall, but an untreated blunt force trauma that leads to death MUST be investigated.

I would guess this was a tragic accident with mistakes made by the facility, BUT with this administration, you never know.

I feel sorry for McMaster and his family. This is a situation that not only brings grief but massive amounts of guilt feelings, not that the feelings would necessarily be logical or validated.

Elder care is hard and a struggle. I know.

How dreadful for his family.

You’re right. TPM, you are better than this!

institutional neglect could take the form of an employee being paid/threated into helping an old man fall on his head.

Thanks. The Lesin killing was a Putin hit to a near certainty, so it does happen here, but this didn’t have the right feel. Funnily enough I just warned an editor of my own not to hype a story I did. It happens.

The recent high profile attacks by Russian intelligence involved the use of chemical weapons, specifically a lethal nerve agent on civilians in Britain, a NATO ally. However, Russian intelligence has a wide range of capabilities and also works closely with the Russian mafia, NRA and white christian supremacists groups in the USA. I recall there are examples where blunt force and other non-chemical methods have been used. I would not preclude foul play until the investigation is completed and all the facts are made available.
