Discussion: David Hogg: I Won't Accept Ingraham's Apology Until She's 'More Objective'

I love these students. They are not taking any shit, and like most teenagers, they know just how to push the buttons that piss off adults the most.
Keep up the great work!

Laura Ingraham is not fit to smell where David Hogg pees.

Schtupping D’Felon is only one of the multitude of reasons.

Can’t embed but here it is. The quintessence of lameness.

Listen to the kid’s statement on CNN. Pitch perfect. This young man has an instinct for saying the right thing. I think those colleges who didn’t accept him need to rethink. He is the real deal.

Quite remarkable that the only one in this conflict who engaged in petty, personal attacks is the person who’s supposed to be the “adult.”

I would need her to be more objective in the way she talks about us.

The arithmetic doesn’t work. She lost some advertisers for being what she is but if she were to become more objective she would lose 100% of her audience. In that setting even right wing shock jocks can figure out which one is bigger than the other.

David…Beware!

That wicked witch’s only hidden her Broom for Holy Week only

I think Hogg understands this perfectly well.
Look, these kids had the smarts to appeal to MELANIA about cyberbullying. They are on their game.

First Mr. Hogg would have to explain to the harpy what “objective” even means…

I don’t think he has any plans to go on her show. And good for him.

As much as I welcome bullies getting a swift punch right back, I always hear my mother’s voice in my head, warning against getting into a pissing match with a skunk. Part of me wishes he’d just ignore these creatures and concentrate on leadership of that fast-growing popular movement for gun safety…

OK but right now the bullies are getting punched harder than they wish to be punched. A sudden loss of advertisers is language they can understand, because that’s what they’re in this game for. It’s another way for these kids to win. I’ll bet they have an innate sense of when to ignore the attacks and when to answer. They’re more media savvy than most people actually in the media. They’re mostly members of the drama club, don’t forget. And they’re whip-smart people who’ve been raised in the media culture the way fish have been raised in water. I’m not worried about them one bit. They’re really good at this.

These high-school teenagers have also let the cat out of the bag that the hitherto redoubtable right wing smear machine lacks anything akin to the invincibility so many have too long attributed to it, that the man behind the curtain is hardly at all formidable. This must be the biggest fear of the cornered animals hurling vicious attacks at them. These kids are not just winning the battle; they are neutralizing bullying tactics that have been used effectively for generations.

Well, I guess since David Hogg and the other survivors, as well as the victims, don’t have criminal records, Ingraham has to resort to mocking a straight-A student in order to create a negative perception of him. You know, like they always bring up the criminal records of the unarmed black people who get gunned down for holding a cell phone or driving while black.

And I guess Ingraham should be grateful that it is Holy Week, otherwise, she’d have had to resort to apologizing just for being an insensitive a-hole who only cares about losing money from advertising.

And speaking of “Holy Week”, anybody remember what someone once said about people like Ingraham?

“Better for them that a millstone were hanged about their neck, and they were cast into the sea, than that they should offend even one of these little ones.”

I understand millstone futures are up 20% on early trading this morning…

(PS: Chag Pesach same’ach!)

Someone needs to educate these kids. If they are going to keep going on TV they need to follow the rules. Mainly: Objectivity means Right Wing assholes are never, ever called out.

I’d be more inclined to be impressed by Laura Gingham’s devotion to Holy Week if she spent a little more time embodying Christian ideals the other 51weeks of the year.

This is so delicious. And from what I understand the pressure is building on all the other advertisers too. Here’s to hoping Laura is out of a show by next week.

“Holy week”? I must’ve missed something. Did someone really invoke Holy Week?? WTF? Guess I haven’t been following this twitter duel as well as I should have.
