Makes sense. I wonder what business plans Jones has in NJ that will need a fast-track? Alternatively, it’s a good endorsement of a carpetbagger down in the Republic of Texas before the campaigning starts.
The real crime was what the officials did during that game. DALLAS may go down in the books as the winner, but they have stink on them from the officials actions. THE VICTORY IS TAINTED. And now that we know Christie was involved, we should demand a full investigation.
The head of the officiating crew was photographed partying with Steve Jones, (owners son), in Vegas during this last summer.
This was the worst officiated game all year.
I like how the statement from Christie’s office assumes there were only two options for Christie’s travel: Either Jerry Jones paid, or the state of New Jersey would have paid. God forbid Christie should pay for his own leisure travel.
I bet it was a 747 wide body Christy flew on… I really feel sorry for the buffet in that suite
Thank God Christie wasn’t in Oklahoma wearing that hoodie…oh, wait, that isn’t a hoodie…
You would think that Jones would be paying for Jeb Bush to go to the game instead. Looks like Jones is betting on Christy and not Ted Cruz or Jeb Bush. LOL.
I don’t think the price of the ticket was the payoff for Christie, I think he thinks the PR of being in the Owners Box for “America’s” Team ™ is the payoff, except him looking short and overweight and stumbling around when the camera cued him isn’t going to be the payoff he hopes it will be.
Now if only some Democratic organ would run that video over and over and make up stories around it for the press to pass along in their stenographer role, well, that would be nice too.
was it a wide-body?
chrisco hasn’t seen his piper in years and jerry don’t let ff’s touch his piper
NJ voters really dislike Christie and it’s mainly because he’s rarely in the state doing governor kind of work. Those voters have long preferred HRC over Christie, and the R primary voters who seem to determine presidential candidates won’t go for him because he’s from NJ. Having a bromance with Jerry Jones isn’t going to help
All true most likely but boy how the R’s would love, and I mean love to steal one of them reallllly big states from the Dems. It’s the only way they can make the math work. Something to sell for the Christie team.
Not relevant to this. The Cowboys are an NFL team, and are in no way tax exempt. No NFL Team is tax exempt. They pay lots of tax, and they SHOULD pay lots of tax.
Correct, NFL TEAMS pay taxes, and lots of them, as they should.
The League exemption is not a problem to me, the league itself does not make a lot of money, the Teams do. What I find appalling is the salaries. Commissioner Godell makes $40 million, media VP Bornstein makes $24 mil, the general counsel Jeff Pash $7.96 mil, all from the Bonus Plan. They also had $1.276 mil in Lobbying expenses, $7.14 mil went to their Washington Law Firm, $9 mil to their NY Law Firm. How is that justified if they don’t make a lot of money. In 2012, the league lost money. I’d like to see a little more on that “Bonus Plan”, and perhaps the IRS and Congress need to have a look too.
Love to see that link, if I am the Lions and he made some questionable calls, I’d legally go after him.
Reason No. 13,934 to hate Jerry Jones.
Good luck running for Texas Governor, WideAss.
Private jet? I was thinking C-17 with a couple of rocket boosters for insurance.
Yep, Federal fuel subsidies aren’t limited to Exxon and BP.
Maybe you missed this part of the discussion?
“the NFL” is a tax-exempt umbrella, not a football team.
