Discussion: 'Daily Show' Tackles Racist Porn Industry (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #245526

¨12 Inches A Slave¨? ¨Black Wives Matter¨? I´d be intrigued to find the correlation between Rush Limbaugh fans and those titles.

Hopefully they tackle that Axe ad as well. It´s weird. The ad seems to be targeted toward high school boys, but as far as I can tell, the average age of a TPM reader is just shy of … well, you know. Can´t imagine that we´re going be buying Axe at this point.

Can’t view the video right now, so are they speaking about the vaguely racist idea that only black men have massive schlongs and women, especially white women, are completely entranced by them to the exclusion of their senses?

Because that old stereotype is by far the most prevalent schtick in “interracial” porn.

Amusing and good points all the way through but Jesus Christ Almighty there are performers who won’t do interracial because their parents would disapprove? I’m just sorry I heard that so early in the morning because getting up and staggering around in circles with your fists to your temples is not the way to start a day.

Not really, although you’d think that. One quick allusion from an interviewee that went flying by uncommented on. It’s obviously a racist stereotype but I think even more than that, people who write at the Daily Show level don’t settle for the first, most obvious joke they can think of. Check it out when you can. It’s kind of heartening to see the Daily Show carrying on with good stuff in the post-Stewart era.

What was truly mind-blowing was the stuff they’d rather do before interracial. Double anal penetration is more acceptable?! That cracked me up.

Wasn’t Snoop Dogg here first? I recall him complaining 10 years ago that the Girls Gone Wild videos didn’t feature women of color.

Yeah, and Mom and Dad are cool with all that, the whole family sits around and watches your latest work at Thanksgiving time, but interracial, no, that’s just wrong, not how we raised you, young lady, all that. SMH

It would me, too.

OK, I retired to an official Safe Space and was able to watch the segment…and it’s a sorry state of affairs what America has come to.

Seriously, porn is the ultimate “piece work” (lol), and any woman (or man) should be thrilled that they’re getting called in to make a buck. To turn down a job where you fuck for cash because you don’t like the partner’s skin color means you really don’t understand the whole business of Pay to Fuck under hot lights.

With the influx of Eastern European performers who will do literally anything for the camera, this is just another example of how immigrants are stealing our jobs because Americans are too picky to do them. :smirk:

Furthermore, I can’t stand Lisa Ann and never could…but Misty Stone is smokin’ hot and does great quality work.

Doesn’t surprise me a bit being concerned about their white daughters with black men, but I’m sure they’d be ok if their white sons did black women. Not that far from what went on during slavery days. It’s all about power.

Seems like 30-40 plus years ago I heard some comedy routine where a white guy is watching a porn movie and the white women is having sex with all sorts and numbers of people, things, and animals and the guy thinks it’s just great and then a black guy walks in and he is just completely disgusted. Googled a bit but couldn’t find it. Someone will probably know what I’m talking about. Almost think it was a Cheech and Chong bit. EDIT: Right up their alley, so to speak!

Well that’s it, isn’t it? It’s a job. Personally I prefer not to work with people who have loud, brassy voices. But if I want to make money I have to make allowances. I don’t get to pick and choose every little thing. Funny, we’re looking at the opposite end of some kind of continuum from people who don’t want to bake a cake for a gay wedding, but it’s still discrimination.

You realize, of course, that Axe is just a spin-off of Agent Orange? Ever been in a carload of, say, 8th-10th grade boys on the way to a dance? It’s worse than picking them up after two-a-days in August.

Gives a whole new meaning to “tear 'em a new one.”

Actually no. That wasn’t my reading of it. That was the EXCUSE that some prejudiced performers would use to refuse interracial scenes. It’s not legit, but it’s the standard excuse used to not work with black performers. Trevor was lampooning the absurdity of the excuse.

Come on these are porn stars. You think the vast majority of them are even working in the industry with the full knowledge and approval of their parents? Not highly likely they really care that much about what their parents think about their chosen profession, much less that they’re going to start listening to the racial preferences that their parents have for them on screen.

It goes both ways, considering Prince Yashua who was featured in the Daily Show clip had an um…“incident” a few years back where his joytoy was, uh…broken. Literally.

Ha! I´m familiar with it as my 10th grade son uses it. I can´t imagine a car load of nervous Axe users.
