Discussion: Cummings Calls On Gowdy To Subpoena WH For Docs On Personal Email Use

The point is well taken, but it needs the teeth of chairmanships here and on Ethics to get beyond being talk. As long as the Republicans hold the majority, they can keep punting any accounting for their malfeasance into the future. And for Gowdy, who’s put a Bork sized 'Kick me!" sign on his back, is there any recourse now that he’s declared his intention not to seek re-election (and, presumably, any government appointment that requires a confirmation hearing.)

I hope the Dems push this hard, somehow get it into the forefront of the news cycle. Could be interesting.

What? Trey Gowdy ask a Republican for official business private emails??? :flushed: Ohhhhhhh! The irony! It hurts!!!

On reflection, that would be an ideal outcome. Barring it that, it does create a paper trail, both of Gowdy’s being alerted of the discrepancy and of his, presumably, doing nothing about. What this record might later be used for, I don’t know.

Cummings is only offering tit for tat. Or pins for the pin head.

Cummings is and has been amazing. Too bad that there aren’t more just like him.

!. There are no Republicans in Congress, none. They have all given up any claim to that in support of DJT, they are now all Trumpublicans.
2. To expect Trumpublicans to do anything that might damage “Dear Leader” is to expect Unicorns and fairy dust for Christmas.
3. November will be fun, but only if people who care about America vote. You don’t vote, you don’t count
