It’s kind of ‘funny’ (peculiar not ha-ha) that Cruz etal are so WORRIED about a tiny island nation ‘corrupting’ the big bad number #1 United States of America. Yeah Obama, what a rube! Lordy.

Hmmm … tell it to all the U.S. businesses just itching to open up shop there, Senator. Oh, and what’s good for Cuba should be good for China. They are both Communist.

Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, China, etc., etc., etc. and you’re worried about a small island off Florida? Really?

I can understand the frustration as the son of a Cuban immigrant, but you’re running for President now and it’s not about your personal fee fees but the good of the country and world.

George Bush let his fee fees about Saddam Hussein’s failed assassination of his father lead us into an unnecessary war that cost thousands of American lives and billions of American dollars and even more middle eastern lives and treasure. We don’t need that kind of temperament again.

On the other hand, nice pic!

Eat it Teddy boy!

I am so glad to see the Zen chessmaster Obama sticking it to Cruz and small boy Rubio. Better, he’s burnishing his legacy for the history books while at the same time legitimately opening up huge trade opportunities that American business desires. It’s gotta be pleasing personally to Obama as well that in his last as a 'lame duck" he’s been able to move mountains, all the while sticking his tongue out at all his Republican critics who are howling about it.

Make no mistake about it that even the few Republican politicians who laud this move behind the scenes are furious that Obama continue to reap praise for his singular actions, actions they zero part in enacting. Feel the burn fellas!

Poor Ted still thinks it’s 1950 something.

If Obama is a radical Muslim Kenyan who is not eligible to be POTUS and therefore is an illegitimate president as the wingnuts have kept claiming, his Cuba visit should do nothing to legitimize Castro.

Is Obama POTUS or not? Those guys seriously need to decide which.

Republicans don’t understand this position is not popular with the majority of Cuban-Americans now. Idiots.

You tell 'em, Ted. No self-respecting patriotic Republican will have anything to do with Commie dictators.

Did Cruz just acknowledge Obama’s mere presence as powerful enough to legitimize other governments rather than referring to him as weak, powerless, “lame duck”, do-nothing and [insert other code-speak for calling a black man lazy, feckless, etc.]?

Progress!

I guess our Presidents better just stay home and only talk to our besties.

So let’s get this straight, talking to people like Putin (or Castro) empowers them, talking about Putin (like Trump) shows strength.

Oh, now I really hope Obama negotiates a prisoner release while he is there!

“And it cannot happen by blah blah blah it’s not the 1950’s anymore but goddamnit we want the 1950’s back so badly we’re going to pretend they’re still here.”

Cruz is primarily wrong, because he’s only right in the sense that he’s throwing out deliberately absurdist characterizations of what Obama’s doing that, yeah, obviously that’s not how it works.

Know how it works?

Trade. The economy. Freedom will come to the Cuban people by dropping the embargo and letting their economy interact with ours, benefit from it, her people benefit from it, etc. Oh so much flows from that, including education, the cornerstone of any free society. Join their economy to ours, make it dependent upon it and let them see and experience the benefits. Give them the taste, and if the regime’s behavior ever forces us to threaten to reinstate an embargo, it will have to choose between obeying our demands or instigating all-out rioting in the streets and open rebellion. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think Cuba will move more and more towards democracy within a few decades because of Obama…and these fuckers can’t stand that he’s going to have another thing to take credit for.

What evidence is there whatsoever that Cuba is exporting terrorism through Latin America? You can’t just throw that word in there Cruz.
