Straight from the GOP playbook…
Earth to sCruz: You’ll have to retain a majority in the Senate to do that. So, good luck.
Constitution, we don’t need no stinkin’ Constitution.
I guess it’s called “advice and dissent” now instead of “advice and consent”. The change must have happened in the Constitutional Amendment ratified at Scalia’s ME exam.
At which point, the new AG should open an investigation into Clarence Thomas for a variety of illegal activities and see if he can be ousted. Problem solved and the GOP can go suck it.
Republican bottom feeders like Cruz will starve----looking for the bottom.
If that’s the way it’s gonna be, then I’m gonna hope and pray for Thomas to take a dirt nap asap.
Ok Cruz …Please proceed
It’d be a real shame if anything happened to the conservative wing of SCOTUS
You best be askin’ Jebus for a special prayer for their continued good health.
Who knows you may have the Dems agreeing with you. Ya 7 is enough
My dream has always been for Boner and cross-eyed Clarence to meet up in their RVs, face to face, at 75 mph somewhere in the Nevada dessert.
My guess is that their strategy is to wait out RBG. When she’s gone, they’ll have a conservative majority on the SCOTUS again.
Gop when they think they have a shot at the Presidency: Presidents don’t get nominees in their final year!
Gop when they nominate a dangerous, unelectable moron and see his numbers crater: Democratic Presidents don’t ever get to nominate anyone to anything.
“That being said, Senator McCain will, of course, thoroughly examine the record of any Supreme Court nominee put before the Senate and vote for or against that individual based on their qualifications as he has done throughout his career.”
Except for Garland, of course. He’s special.
What about an investigation into Scalia
? Is that theoretically possible?
He was a lot slimier than any other justice, so I imagine that he would be a good target.
Cruz joins trump in not accepting the results of the election.
… and now we see why Harry Reid was so eager to set them up to remove the filibuster on Supreme Court Justices. A Democratic majority Senate just got a whole lot more important.
On a side note - literally all Ted Cruz has done in the Senate is A) run for President, and B) try to prevent the government from functioning. As a Texan it’s incredibly painful to see one of our Senate seats be wasted by an anarchist.
There is something odd in the title. Since when does Cruz “hint” at anything? He’s quite the direct bellower, usually.
No US Senator who is a close associate of David Barton should be trusted with giving history lessons or interpretations of the Constitution.
Excellent news. This points to the various factions within the GOP spending the next 4 years escalating their internal civil war. And the more they continue with their internal fights, the less time, energy and resources they can spend on shoring up the rubble that Trump has wrought. With demographics like say…women.
OK. Just assume that every time a fucking Republican opens his or her mouth for the foreseeable future, I make the comment “This is a shocking departure from the unwritten norms of protocol that have enabled the U.S. government to function for two centuries. It will greatly contribute to the current gridlock and that’s why the traitors are doing it. Kill them all. With votes. Or fire. I really don’t care.” Anyway just assume that because about 99 times out of a hundred it’ll be be an appropriate comment. I don’t have time to actually make it every time it is and still get through the day.
