Kansas court kiboshes Kobach.
It’s a push-me pull-you strategy.
I don’t understand how this was anything but a blatant attempt to rig an election with a bogus candidate.
I don’t understand why Kobach isn’t facing federal prison time.
Empty
Well, Kris, it looks like you’ll have to go to elections with the ballots you have, not with the ballots you wish you had. It’s a rum Republican truism that you’ll have to live with.
It’s all much simpler if you just understand this: republicans think elections are a pageant to anoint whoever in the Good Ole Boy club is “up next,” and have ZERO respect for the rule of law.
Or, if you just remember that if it’s an election, the republican will try to cheat.
He could not “look” more partisan at this point. Kansans know who he is.
HA ha. /Nelson Muntz voice/
A finger should also be pointed at AG Schmidt who signed on and backed Kobach on both his failed Supreme Court case and this case. Influenced by Koch money too? Schimdt’s overall competence (and legal ethics) to act as the state’s top lawyer should be called into question.
Anything but Rachael Ray!
New Suffolk poll today - Orman by 5 points. Better act quickly
Illegal Dems get their illegal support from illegal voters and illegals themselves!
(That one’s for you, @NickDanger. Though somehow I just can’t make it quite as overtly racist as you usually do).
“If there were more time, a possible appeal to the Kansas Supreme Court could be a possibility,” he wrote. “But to bring it now would be a fool’s errand, and if Kobach brings it he’ll look even more partisan than he has looked in this whole mess.”
In other words, we know Kobach’s next step.
tHAT is WhaT makeS mitT grEAt. yOU acT liKE thiS is A neGATIVE quaLITY.
Kobach—like McDaniel in Mississippi—is like a dog with a bone.
He won’t give up until there is nowhere else to go with his stupid lawsuits and complaints.
The one truly bright spot is this:
"In mid-August, Kobach had a five-point lead over Democratic challenger Jean Schodorf in a poll published by Public Policy Polling. The same firm reported last week that Kobach’s lead has shrunk within the margin of error.
It’s worth noting that PPP is at times considered a left-leaning polling firm, which may give Schodorf an artificial boost. SurveyUSA, however, shows Schodorf holding a narrow lead against Kobach.
Schodorf was Kansas senator from Wichita. She used to call herself a Republican, but the party didn’t feel like she was conservative enough, so it supported her GOP primary opponent Michael O’Donnell, who defeated her in 2012. Schodorf left the party the following year and took up ranks with the Kansas Democrats.
If Schodorf has any momentum in the race, as the public polls suggest, it seems to have more to do with Kobach’s recent performance than with anything Schodorf’s mostly invisible campaign has been doing."
So someone needs to get Schodorf to be much more visible, and to start hammering Kobach on his overtly partisan stupidity.
Hope he steps quickly after the election since he’ll probably be jobless after the first of 2015.
Can you display your unhappiness any other way?
Yup.
Dicklock put himself full front and center in the Orman/Roberts fiasco and it’s not been a good thing for him. I hope he loses as he deserves to.
I drove from MCI to Topeka and back this week. It was of course all farm country, but I saw no signs for anything that wasn’t a GOTPer.
