Exactly. She’s not a dumb person. She monitors the wingnut world and explains their perplexities to them in ways that make them feel good. Trump’s grievous ineffectiveness is only just coming home to them, and she knows it’s not going to get better, so she’s handing out the pitchforks and ax handles right now. HE LET US DOWN will be the cry.

I’m not counting on it, his sycophants are just as fickle and unaccountable as their Combover in Chief.
But if they do sincerely turn at some point (which I don’t think has been reached yet) his loss of support will look like the St. John’s River in a spring ebb tide.

I don’t ever expect that any president of any party could lose all support. That’s never going to happen, but losing 5-10% when he’s already sitting at 35-40% is devastating. I also don’t expect it to happen fast. I expect a slow trickle where his support will tick up at times and then back down and then up and then down lower than it previously was and so on.
