I have the same question about why ANY woman would go see Cosby as why ANY woman would vote republicans. I can not imagine!!

Psychological “tell” there: if he weren’t basically guilty of the serial crime of which he’s been accused, he wouldn’t joke about it. The brazen nature of the “joke” itself reveals the mind that births the crime.

I saw him about 8 years ago. The new material was tired “I’m old and you’re not” cranky pants stuff. Yawn. He did one old bit that was funny but it was like watching reruns of Laugh-in.

And he was wearing a sweat suit. What’s up with that?

Disregard the scandal; he’s just not relevant anymore. Consider the scandal and it’s mystifying why anyone would pay money for tired schtick.

He has no motivation to do anything but hang tough. As soon as he admits it, he’s opened the door to many millions in suits. As far as I can tell, none of the women can prove anything; his reputation is already dirt; he’s lost all his honorary positions; so admitting anything at this point just adds to the negatives. And an admission won’t bring him rehabilitation at this point in his life.

I guess he could commit himself and his money to the cause of preventing violence against women and speak to men who’ve done what he’s done, or alleged to have done. That’s about his only way out of this dark tunnel should he admit his wrongdoing.

Honestly, any comedian’s primary defense mechanism for things they don’t like is to make a joke out of it. It’s kinda why they’re in the biz.

That said, the guys I don’t really get are the hecklers. Ok, you went to a Cosby show and gave him a hard time. Congratulations. You paid him to throw you out. Do you think you brought an awareness of the issue to the audience? Do you think they haven’t heard it already? End of the day: he got paid. Good jorb, Hamscray.

How many of them believe he’s guilty? Human nature leads us to gloss over a bunch of stuff we’d rather wasn’t true.
