Discussion: Cordray Strikes Populist Tone On Tax Day As Ohio Gov Race Heats Up

Over Kasich, I would support the proverbial ham sandwich. But that’s irrelevant to this discussion about the primary, and that doesn’t excuse Kucinich being a Trump apologist. And you didn’t answer the question. Why would a Trump supporter deserve Dem primary votes?

Buh bye, Kooch

In a February 2017 opinion piece published by Newsweek, he defended Michael Flynn, who had just resigned as Trump’s national security adviser and would later plead guilty to lying to federal agents. Last July, he said on Fox News that the meeting between Trump campaign officials and a Kremlin-linked lawyer “is a bunch of nothing,” and that the Russia investigations are “going nowhere.” He claimed in multiple TV appearances that U.S. intelligences agencies are trying to take down Trump. In one spot, when Fox News host Sean Hannity asked if “President Trump is under attack by the ‘deep state’ intelligence community,” Kucinich responded: “I believe that.”

Throw him on the pile with Jill Stein and Susan Sarandon.

You’ll have to ask them.

No, I’m asking you — why should any Dem support Kucinich in the primary, given his steadfast defense of Trump and repeated spouting of Trump talking points?

Democrats should support Kucinich if he wins the primary. If you want to take the position that supporting Kucinich is supporting Trump then that’s your choice. I’m not going to make that false equivalency and if Cordray wanted to make it an issue he had ample opportunity to do so in the debates and still does. So far he hasn’t. Perhaps he feels there are more important issues at hand. Apparently, you don’t. Moreover, he will definitely support Kucinich if he wins. By the way, the winner of the Democratic primary will most likely be facing Mike DeWine, not Kasich. I am not going to let ideological purity stand in the way of supporting a Democrat who wins a primary. You can support the ham sandwich.

And for at least the third time, you have dodged the question — please explain why anyone should excuse Kucinich’s steadfast support for Trump since the election, his repeated criticism of the Russia investigation as “nothing,” and his defense of Trump as being the victim of a “deep state” conspiracy? Why would such a staunch defender of Trump — on Fox News, no less — deserve a single Dem Primary vote?

Don’t worry — we know why you won’t answer. Because there is no defense, excuse, or explanation for Kucinich’s support of Trump, unless he is a willing Trump hack or an utter imbecile. Which means that there is no defense or excuse for voting for Kucinich in the primary, unless one is (a) trying to get the Republican re-elected; (b) an utter moron; or © both.

So I guess you won’t be supporting the winner of the Democratic primary unless its Cordray.

So, I guess you refuse to defend a vote for Kucinich. Don’t worry, Eduardo — we know why. We all know why. Because the only explanation for Kucinich is that he is either a willing, active Trump supporter or just an utterly clueless fool. So which do you think he is, Eduardo? Is Kucinich a con artist and Trump hack, or is he just a totally oblivious idiot?

We have on display here the death wish of the American left. Kucinich winning the primary and then getting clobbered in the general election is what they want. That this keeps happening is not because they’re not learning. Same with Cynthia Nixon, attempting to be the Ralph Nader of New York. (And look at New York’s history with Senate races in '70 and '80.) The need for purity above winning; the martyrdom; it’s not a bug; it’s a feature.

Last week I did get a letter from Elizabeth Warren (what a sell-out) soliciting money for Cordray.

I will be voting for Pillich in the primary. I’m still pissed off that she and Betty Sutton were forced out of the race by the Old Boy Network. But if Kucinich wins I will support him. Furthermore, Mike DeWine vs Dennis Kucinich is not that scary a proposition. This is not the east coast. A cook vs an imbecile running for governor of Ohio. So what else is new.

Cuomo is my choice for 2020 to run against Trump if Trump is still around.

I am reluctant to defend a vote for Kucinich because I’m not voting for him. But I do think it is important to tell people why they may not want to vote for someone. Kucinich’s careless remarks about Trump have you all torqued up. I have a hard time with Cordray’s well thought out and strong advocacy of the NRA. But both are Democrats and both are preferable to Mike DeWine. I can tell the difference between Trump and Kucinich. Can you?

Not sure. I’ve come to have a grudging respect for him. Here in New York he has ruled by fear; on the other hand, he’s gotten much better in the past four years. He’s competent. But he hasn’t aged well and I’m not sure that mug would wear well in America’s living rooms for four years. But I’ll sure take him over Gillibrand. And I hope he clobbers Nixon.

I would love to see him and Trump go at it in a debate. Fortunately, I don’t think Trump will be around and if he is, there may be no “more stinkin debates”.

Yeah, that would be fun.

What do you not like about Cordray? Honest question.

Kasich’s term limited, Mike DeWine is likely the nominee for the GOP.

See for yourself

Sanders was dealt with in the presidential primary. His cult followers didn’t like the overwhelming defeat he suffered so sat at home and pouted on election day. After all both Hillary and trump are the same and if we can’t have Bernie then we will watch it all blow up.

Yes. Two points: Only white people who grew up middle class or higher say shit like “Maybe it has to get worse before it gets better.” Second, the Mueller investigation will not be kind to Bernie, and it will be even more unkind for Jill (“My mouth is a bigger Putin cockholster”) Stein.
