I’d bet a week’s pay that this was a lover’s quarrel. Either a triangle situation, or unrequited affection, or unwanted affection - something of that sort. Stab you then kill myself reeks of “my life is ruined and it’s YOUR fault!”

Political affiliation might not play any part, though if this was a homosexual break-up or outing or somesuch, there is the whole self-loathing aspect that would go along with being part of the GOP, especially the “right-most” part of it.

Sad that kid was so messed up, whatever the reason.
