Discussion: Conway On Immigrants: 'If You Care About The Children' You'd Agree With Trump

When this MalAdministration is finally behind us (and, regardless how it feels now, it will be, sooner or later), I am not sure who I will be most happy to see banished (after Individual-1, of course): KellyAnne ConJob, Sarah Huckster-Slanders, or Rudy Ghouliani.

They all make me grind my teeth and want to vomit.

Any appearance of a spokes-liar for this administration seems like a fallacy textbook has come to life and is speaking.

Oh, K.Conway is lying again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Why is this news?

This is one of those crazy statements that has a kernel of fact, but completely out of context. It’s absolutely true that the Administration has imposed an inhumane situation for children (and their families) at the border. My daughter just returned from a week in Tijuana assisting asylum seekers. Because anyone stepping foot onto US soil is entitled to claim asylum, the Mexican gov’t has cooperated with the Administration to prevent people from crossing the border. Thus, the mobs of people in Tijuana waiting to be among the 200 per day allowed to cross. Once they do cross, they are stripped of their belongings (except for the clothes on their back) and confined to a detention facility called “the ice box” because the US has turned off the heat. Thus, the children lying on concrete floors with only an aluminum sheet and getting sick.

That situation is a human rights violation, and if Conway intended to say that something has to be done to alleviate it, she’s right. What that has to do with agreeing with Trump about his stupid wall, which has nothing whatever to do with any of this, is a mystery.

“If you really care about the children, you’d want them to be murdered in their own countries without even having a dream or possibility of a better life.”

By that same token, if your ancestors really cared about the children, they never would’ve come to the colonies for a better life, and we wouldn’t have to be listening to you now.

If you care about children you want this wall built so that after weeks walking toward freedom, they reach a wall, have nowhere else to go, and no water or food. Then they’d quickly die and go to a happy home in heaven!.

Anagram anyone? “VILE” becomes “EVIL!”

We’ve covered this before, and everyone here agrees I’m an idiot for my opinion. But I constantly marvel at why the hell people have children when they lead an impoverished existence in some violence riven society, sans any hope of anything but a bleak, destitute future laden with pain, disease, misery and eventual early death after a miserable few decades of futiley clawing away at an utterly meager daily living.

This is what you bring a child into? And please, don’t tell me in the teeming slums of Sao Paolo there will be born a Nobel winning oncologist that finds the cure for leukemia. The promise of that birth doesn’t outweigh the misery and pain several million will experience for having been brought into the world under those conditions.

I don’t know how you look yourself in the mirror after having a child you have no confidence you can feed, clothe, educate and make safe from random or organized violence.

Bullshit artist and propagandist, Kelly Ann Conway, sez what??

Truth and Reconciliation Commission would be so inadequate after having these hyenas at the seat of power.

I personally agree, but the life force is powerful and extremely persistent and only partially rational.

Cackleconway forgot he is the one who allowed the 2 children to die and the people to be teargassed…
No biatch, he does not care about anyone but himself…

Lies, damned lies and dotard and his cruel gaggle .

Stevie – You’re an idiot for your opinion. /s

What you are overlooking is that people in that part of the world don’t have as much control over family planning as those in the developed world. The countries are typically very Catholic, and birth control and abortions are likely non-existent. Moreover, women don’t have as much to say in whether they get pregnant as they do elsewhere. You can ask the same question about us in the States who continue to have children though the planet is likely on a collision course with disaster within 100 years or so.

I’m just trying to figure out how in pictures of Conway either her face is plumped up and her hair is scraggly or vise a versa.

I am not sure how the wall is going to help the children in the DHS concentration camps.

Well either that or becoming an orphan, six of one, half dozen of the other.

A few thoughts after having spent some time in Bolivia: 1) strongly Catholic countries (where the local priests insisted that a raped 10-year-old be forced to give birth, remember that case??), 2) birth control costs money – when your daily subsistence is literally cents each day, you cannot afford it, 3) macho society and 4) they don’t know it any different (“this is the way it’s always been”).

I understand what you are trying to say and I don’t really disagree.

I also understand that it takes guts to buck social norms. One lovely lady in LaPaz (the housekeeper of friends of mine) got her husband to agree to limit the nr of kids to two, in spite of that requiring him to look like an infertile wuss because she wasn’t popping out kids left and right. Their two kids both made it to university. Her younger sister lived in the middle of nowhere near Lake Titicaca in a 1-room mud hut with 5 kids under 5, no electricity or running water, and mother-in-law underfoot. The sister with the mud hut was proud of her “virile” husband…more important than shoes or food for the kids. It was as though the sisters came from different planets, not from the same set of parents.

What can I say, other than it’s complicated.

Personally I feel homo sapiens should forgo procreation for a minimum of 3 generations. Earth would be better for it. The species is a dangerous, destructive anomaly, a freak aberration that dooms everything.
