Josh Barro questioned whether the meeting was as contentious as the reports claim, suggesting maybe Team Pepe leaked the report since his base loves when he beats up on the press. I think this just confirms the veracity of what was initially reported. When KAC denies something, you can bet your last dollar itâs true.

When she said âhe didnât explode in angerâ I thought âstraw man.â Because she uses that and other forms of deflection all the time. You can chew out and bully a roomful of people without going into a wild arm-raving rage. So the Post source and the others just lie at different points on a spectrum of ways you might describe the same thing. The point is he doesnât want or much understand reconciliation or a constructive, normal relationship with the media. When he wants to smooth things over it probably always looks like that fawning, pseudo-charming stuff he did with Megyn Kelly. Or he just caves like a little, uh, caving-type person. One wonders if his self-vaunted* negotiating abilities are perhaps exaggerated.

Not sure what you mean about âthe hard way.â So far he is getting away with everything. He remains a blowhard and pretty much everyone is cow-towing to him. The only blow back I see is at sites like this one. (And SNL & Hamilton)
