Ahh, living in the white privileged moneyed world. Could a normal person appeal their sentence to the Supreme Court while staying out of prison during the appeal process?

When most people get convicted of a crime they’re handcuffed right after the verdict and dragged off to prison no matter how many appeals they plan to file.

You may be right. This Court’s ideas about political speech rights of corporations make traditional bribery analysis stand on its head. Since the briber here did not actually receive any of the benefits he paid the politician for, not guilty.

The odd thing about his hair is that just before he went to trial he stopped dying it blond so it turned a natural gray. Happened over just a few days. Clearly a PR stunt per his PR/lawyer’s suggestion to make him look older and weary for sympathy versus younger and vibrant when running for office or in office. Naturally the local press did not catch on and failed to mention the obvious weak attempt for public sympathy.

I remember his AG campaign where he featured paramilitary action shots jumping out of a helicopter with his vigorous, macho Law & Order routine. Wonder how he’ll show up at the pen?

That may be the case, but I think the Appeals Court rejected his claim bc there is basically no chance that the Ex-Governor will prevail at the Supreme Court. For once, justice seems to go the right way.
