That quote was amazing – such a Freudian slip! I mean, like all of us my first reaction was to snicker at the idea there might be a full-scale shooting war rather than a peaceful transition. That marine ain’t leavin’ his fighting hole unless he’s carried out!
Then when I stopped laughing at her I realized that there really is a good chance the handover would be acrimonious. Passive aggressive at best, like saying to the new guy “he’s yours to deal with now, asshole, enjoy”. And I say “guy” because there’s no way the new person will be a woman; not with Trump

I think it might be mostly that things are so incredibly lit over there right now that she used an absurd phrase because it made a weird emotional sense for what they wanted. I’ve read Trump and Kelly literally don’t speak to each other. That ain’t typical either. And all he does these days is rage and storm around. So she’s just shell-shocked and doesn’t know what she’s saying.

Now after all the “he can’t get anyone good to take the job!” press coverage, Trump will be desperate to get someone people have heard of and don’t see as a complete joke. Desperate. I don’t think his desperation will help him here, mind you, but his usual instinct to go with the biggest ass-kisser can’t necessarily be exercised here. He’s really put himself in a box
