Discussion: Conservative Website Spars With Local TV Station Over Fundraiser For Indiana Pizza Shop

Scam, scam, scam…

I am forced to wonder how much of this money raised, if any, will go to the employees who through no fault of their own find themselves out of work. They didn’t make the statements that started all of this and they weren’t the ones who decided to close Memories Pizza down. I suspect that the owners of Memories Pizza planned this whole thing out secure in the knowledge that some conservative clown would start a Go Fund Me account for them. I believe that all the people who donated have been played by this internet savvy couple.

I can’t stand either Glenn … they’re both yippy little poodles clamoring for attention … so I didn’t read it.

Remember how they said that we didn’t need laws against discrimination because the market would correct it? Word would get out and the business would be boycotted and avoided?

Now we know what really happens. Word gets out, the business gets a threat of a boycott, and the same people who said we didn’t need laws against discrimination will hand the bigotry businesses boatloads of money in defense.

We knew they were liars… but do they realize they have exposed themselves as liars?

What is it they say about a fool and his money…???

These monies are gifts from the giver to the recipient and are not taxable unless an individual giver exceeds the current IRS threshold dollar-amount. In other words, this GoFundMe page is perfectly legal

Any 'Merkin can give anything they want as a gift to another 'Merkin. They just can’t write it off as a charitable donation,.

Ollie North made a ton of money with his direct-mail list soliciting gifts from conservatards for other conservatards. He must really hate GoFundMe! So, there is an upside.

RWNJ’s - Zimmerman proved shooting unarmed black kids is much more profitable.

I think I can now see the con.

From the beginning, it made no sense for this pizza parlor in podunk Indiana to go on local TV and announce they are openly bigoted and ready to discriminate. Someone from the wingnut welfare mill set this up. Someone tweets about burning the place down, the outrage mill goes into overdrive and the next day, there’s 3/4 mil to divy up.

This is a con on a grand scale!

It should be obvious by now that they are not smart.

Leaving aside the question of where this money goes… Dana Loesch is obviously trying to get Alix Bryan fired. What an incredibly scummy, but completely unsurprisingly, thing.

Bull. Shit. Graffiti? So they mean to tell us that someone took the time to drive out to Podunk Indiana to spray some graffiti on this Bigot Pizza joint?

Bull. Shit.

I may be wrong, but I looked it up and it appears that the $750,000 and counting will be tax free to the pizza makers. If any taxes at all are paid (and that wouldn’t happen unless the gift is over $10,000) they would be paid by the doners.

This is a Prosperity Gospel Pyramid Scam.

Grifters gonna’ grift…and this grift is of near-Palinesque stature and probably gets a ‘YESSSSSS!’ and “thumbs up” from the Wasilla Grifter n’ Chief herself. Now let’s see how they are going to churn up this 15minutes: Reality show…“Pepperoni Dynasty”? TEAlibangelical church presentations with a pizza-shaped alms plate? County fairs? Elementary school lessons for lil’ Indiana grifters? The possibilities for these martyrbating’ Jesus-Crust’-He-Is-Risen Irish pizza makers is endless!

It gets 5% of the proceeds.

TPM please don’t feed the meme by using the word “forced”. They weren’t forced to close down. They chose to close down. They took a stand based on their beliefs and the free market they worship more than any deity responded.
