She’s not wrong.

No she’s entirely right. The president is soulless and you can’t work for a soulless person if you have a soul yourself.

“These are soulless people working for a soulless President.”

Elected by a soulless base.

And given mulligans by soulless “Evangelicals”.

Financed by a soulless communist dictator.

Yes, and three days ago, Jennifer told us that “George W. Bush reminds us how decent leaders sound.” It’s nice when she criticizes Trump, but she’s still a conservative idiot.

Yeah well it actually packs more of a punch than just another liberal, since everybody already knows we hate him.

Usually I can’t stand her, but here she is absolutely right. Her observation is spot on.

Now they tell us. The people of the party that enabled the flourishing of the movement to the hard-right and helped get us where we are now are aghast at what they have wrought. “Oh, but we didn’t mean for this to happen!” Well it did, and you woke up. Better late than never, I guess.

I hate that I’m agreeing with you Jen…

Now I hated Bush as much as any card-carrying liberal, but I would gladly suffer another term under GWB if it would have spared us President Mob Boss Wannabe.

Great point. Everyone knew he was soulless prior to the election. To his “credit”, he made that abundantly clear.

She’s been on Trump’s case since the beginning. I’m sure it’s why he’s having such a hard time.

I had to think about this post before liking it. I decided you are right, Bush was/is as dumb as dirt but he wasn’t bone-mean. It would be a terrible day to have Bush back but it would not be as horrible as having Trump.

You needed 16 months of this guy in the White House to know this?!! I’ve said it from before he started gaining traction in the GOP. Which also tells you that most of the people who voted for him either are also soulless, don’t care that he’s soulless, or aren’t smart enough or interested enough to see that he’s soulless. That is, they’re deplorable for inviting a soulless megalomaniac to be the most powerful person in the world.

I assume that you’re referring to Putin? If so, I am pretty certain that he is not a communist. In fact, I think that he is basically a nihilist who only practices Putinism (kind of like Trump and Trumpism) and that there is no more philosophical underpinning of Putin’s control of Russia than there is for any autocrat who is running a basic kleptocracy.

Words I never once in a million years thought I would ever hear myself agreeing with about Jennifer Rubin, and yet here we are.

I mean, this is a woman who unashamedly admitted after the 2012 election that her constant stream of THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!!! FOR MITT ROMNEY!!! columns were all just pure shilling done out of pure rancid, and considering her job, improper partisanship and that she herself never actually believed Romney was capable of winning or a good candidate.

And this is the woman who has too much integrity to jump on the Trump train and views those who do with revulsion and disgust. As much as anything, it’s a comment on the difference between very little integrity and no integrity and how few are those on the right who have even very little.

Or maybe I am doing her a grave injustice. Maybe it’s just that she actually give a shit about democracy. Shilling for a candidate you don’t really believe in is at least a thing consistent with democracy and she looks at the anti-democratic nihilists and authoritarians goosestepping behind Trump and she sees him and knows him for what he is. And maybe, just maybe, begins to see her former allies as well.

And speaking of the desouled one:

It’s a massive over exaggeration that has me lashing and acting out bigly.
