Remember, Comey and Mueller are career prosecutors. Perjury and obstruction of justice are not trivial offenses to them – they strike at the heart of their entire world.
Like a teacher hates cheating on an exam. Like a clean Olympic athlete hates doping.

Someone said here , the reason that the Republicans are so eager to help Donnie with the cover up is that they know there was a lot of dark Russian money they accepted in the election.

Indeed, hell hath no fury like a career prosecutor/powerful organization scorned.
Soon as I find myself admiring this man I recall how he helped throw the election by claiming to reopen an investigation in Hillary Clinton. Then turns around and says it was nothing. This is where we are.
Run for office- the 2018 elections are 10 months away! And if Trump and Louie Gohmert and Steve King can get elected what’s to stop a qualified candidate?
Become a Precinct Committee Officer, sometimes it’s a Ward officer. You’ll meet with neighborhood Dems and get out the vote. Find good citizens willing to run for office.
Register people to vote. If you need to help people overcome the GOP-led Voter run-around help them do that.
Run for School Board. Make sure Civics is being properly taught. Think a majority of America knows how government works? Just 26% of eligible voters in America voted for Trump and half of eligible voters stayed home last November. Today’s 12-year olds will be voting for President in 8 years.
Run for Mayor, City Council, County Commissioner, Borough Assembly.
Get appointed to your Planning Commission. Know everything going on in your community.
Run for State Legislature or Congress. The next census is in 2020, just a year and a half from now, when we redraw Congressional Districts. And Trump is ALREADY trying to rig the census!
And get rid of GERRYMANDERING! Safe GOP seats gave us such intellectual giants as Louie Gohmert and Steve King. In most cases it’s the state Legislature that draws Congressional boundaries. Make it FAIR, OPEN and HONEST! We can do this!
Overturn Citizens United. Money is NOT speech and Corporations are NOT people- at least not until Texas executes one, and overturn any voter ID laws that are clearly an attempt to disenfranchise the poor and people of color.

Comey DID interfere with the election. He spoke about the Clinton investigation knowing he had a potentially bigger case going against tRump.
And GIVE MONEY. Give to the DCCC and the DSCC. Give to individual candidates for Congress and the Senate.
Put a bumper sticker on your car. Go out and knock on doors. If you live in a safe Democratic district, take some time and go to a swing district and work there.
Well yeah … it is true that weasels and liars eventually “self-destruct” but they can do a hell of a lot of damage until they do.
Mr. Comey carried water for R’s and actually swayed the election to Trump during the last days of the campaign. The FBI apparently got who it wanted and now the Prez is just asking for “more loyalty” like the FBI provided to him.
Mr. Comey just physically could not or would not get any lower on his knees so the Prez is rewarding the entire FBI. The Prez and the R controlled government will beat them into submission.
Hillary warned the entire friggin’ country but the Russians got their way and now they waltz into the White House whenever they want.

- we are all being semi-tortured by the barrage of lies and it is why anxiety is up… Whereas we thought that the 2016 election would send trump into the dustbin of history where he belongs, instead he is the top of every news cycle, every day, day in and day out and now he is being normalized, accepted and his approval numbers are going up. Language that was unacceptable, behavior, lack of ethics and constant false-hood are all the norms now. Hard to believe but seemingly true…
I prefer giving to the candidate directly… and both take PayPal through ActBlue.

It’s one action we can take immediately – that incorporates some satisfaction. Can’t wait for November to take action - we still have long odds.
I wish I knew WTF happened with the Clinton pre-election memo. Now that he’s on the outside, he’s certainly doing a good job of impersonating a reasonable person in the face of partisan hackery (which is what many of us, me included, assumed he was up to in November 2016).

There is really a lot more to the Comey story and the FBI than you have outlined here.
Could be that the entire FBI with their strong republican leaning may be rethinking things, based on the trump attacks.
Do some research on Comey’s actions and his loyalty to the FBI and attempts to counteract the potential leaks of the NY FBI office regarding the emails. Recall also that he said he would be mildly nauseous if he thought he swung the election. – THAT was interpreted by trump that (of course to trump everything is all about himself) trump made Comey nauseous – not that throwing the election made him nauseous.

Some of the things that happened were through the lens that Hillary had a 90% poll of winning the election. - There are a LOT of factors that flipped the election at the last minute… Comey was part, voter suppression was part, third party vote drain was part, voter apathy was part…as in 'why should I bother to vote if the election is already decided", gerrymandering was part… it’s complicated.
It used to be that we had competent governance and we citizens could just put it on autopilot and not pay too much attention (as the majority of the country is right now – although overall, political awareness, and fear of nuclear war is heightened, and meanwhile the environment is getting trashed, and the economy is piling on debt. ) I’m VERY old, and never have I seen the country in this state - Have you ever seen so much talk of impeachment, including articles of impeachment already drawn up, including a vote on the house floor for impeachment, this is unprecedented. Part of it is because the GOP has managed to grab power without being fairly voted in due to gerrymandering in the local levels – the minority is “governing” the majority - misgovernance is a better summation. The whole plot is trying to keep the majority suppressed. Loading the courts including the supreme court is another example of erosion.
IMO it’s really time to know who are the liars and crooks and who are the people who support the ideals of the USA and that isn’t necessarily on party lines. There are those running scared that the top blows off the Russia investigation and and there are those on the opposite end of the spectrum that want to draw lines and call names – Regardless of party affiliation - the people in the country need to come together and protect the constitution. Politicizing the justice department and the courts are very banana republic…but then again wasn’t it FDR who wanted to stack the Supreme Court… it goes both ways…
That’s my soap box of the moment – I guess - here’s my ending for those who have been nonchalant about our government in the past:
