Discussion: Comey’s Testimony On Huma Abedin Forwarding Emails Was Inaccurate

I wish I shared that faith. Getting harder and harder.

I am really tired of Comey acting like Superman while “innocently” defaming character. He’s starting to remind me of Graham Greene’s character in The Quiet American, who, through his will-meaning but innocent behavior, brings death and destruction to everything he touches. I hope Comey spares us another of his soul-searching think-alouds about how righteous he is. Those are wearing thin, too.

Comey has been lying for months. Now he is “inaccurate”
What do you do when the FBI lies?
He lied to Congress.
He absolutely lied about what he did to Clinton.
Will Comey be investigated?

I hope to God that Diane Fienstein or Al Franken or Adam Schiff nails him on this.

Remember the good old days when lying under oath used to have consequences?

You know things are bad when the investigator needs to be investigated.

Isn’t he being investigated?

Who would authorize such an investigation?

Sounded to me like “cover-up” dramatic. He fully knows what he did, which is abuse of power, and so was trying hard to make up a shit drama that justified his conduct.

His replacement would most certainly be worse than this guy, and that’s the only reason I have barely put up with that partisan hack. Then again, the reality is this question – why is Trump still keeping the man if he poses a real threat to him and his presidency?

I had a total meltdown last night while listening to the details of the Kushner sales pitch in China. It is all so sickening and doesn’t seem like it’s going to be stopped any time soon. My husband consoled me….said they would have to answer to it all eventually, but I dunno….

Me too. I can’t believe that a guy who can’t get his facts right stuck us with the biggest loser in the history of the US presidency. It’s unfathomable.

I don’t like thinking about that. :unamused:

Yeah, and isn’t lying to the FBI a felony? Ironic.

Comey has been lying the whole time, I knew it. He’s covering his ass first and foremost, nothing else matters to him. The contrast between Comey and Yates could not be more stark.

Harry Reid was talking about this in December, everyone laughed. Maxine Waters also told the press that the director has no credibility last January, she was dismissed. Well Auntie Max now has added about 200K twitter followers in 2 months because the desperate thirst for truth on this story.

What a fantastic report, TPM, thanks. ProPublica and Peter Elkind.

It would probably start with a grand jury. Grand juries are used when those in authority are corrupt.

It’s also on AOL’s home page.

Ok, but who would impanel that Grand Jury?

I don’t know the answer to that. In California, it would be the local D.A. But I’m not sure about federal, especially in D.C. Grand juries work independently and have broad authority and their proceedings are secret. They work out of the courthouse.

They just got a reality TV show produced by Mr. Law and Order himself, depicting the human valor of the NY Field Office of the FBI. An organization that I think engaged in active measures against this country when they manipulated evidence to defame and destroy Clinton.

I think that we all understand their motives for hurting Hillary as hatred of the Clintons. I think this is wrong, I think the “cabal” inside the FBI that aggressively went after Hillary in 2016 was not just anti-Clinton. I think it was pro-Trump from the beginning.
