Good to see Comey speaking out. Heck, even Carter Page was rational about this. But I do think we need to get the information out about what went on at the FBI NY office and how they favored Trump. We also need the media to do their jobs (and I keep hounding all of them on Twitter). Just ask a simple question of the WH: Why were so many Trump campaign officials talking to Russians. It doesn’t matter what the response is, just put him on defense.

Mr. Comey, there you go trying to pretend Trump gives a shit about the country. He only cares about himself and his money…and that’s it. The rest of America can go to hell…and it has.
I was going to observe that the last thing Benedict Donald would care about is “lasting damage to our country” but realized, in fact, that lasting damage is probably an important goal of his strategy: He wants to damage the nation, it’s legal institutions in particular, as much as possible in order to escape the consequences of his crimes. That it also creates an environment in which predators such as he can flourish is a useful byproduct.

You’ll never hear me defend a deranged scum bag named Trump, but it’s sort of sadly funny that Comey wants to pretend the FBI is above suspicion when it comes to some really horrible, dirty shit it’s pulled over the decades. Just go back to the heady days of J. Edgar Hoover and Nixon if you want to see what the FBI did to innocent Americans, especially black citizens who dared to expect that the US Constitution applied to them. The FBI is a very, very dangerous organization and is not at all above doing illegal things to serve power. But, nothing it did to Trump is remotely in that category.
