Comey has a lot of credibility with Congress.
And the Senate Intelligence committee is the least partisan of the groups for which he could testify.
That’s why he turned down an offer to testify for the Senate Judiciary committee—headed by Iowa farmer Chuck Grassley—which is infested with the stupidest GOP members of the Senate. All they’d do is ask him about Hillary’s emails.
The Intelligence committee will ask about Trump and Russia.

James-You Shouldn’t Have Been A Dick To Me-Comey, will work this in a way that hurts Trounce the most the longest methinks.
Comey appears to be one of the very few Republicans that can see past their partisanship and clearly focus on the Evil in the White House.
Did he jack Hillary and the nation by extension, yes. Even worse, did he aid in electing a raging hemorrhoid to lead the nation, yes.
Is he sorry, who knows. Does he realize what he’s done and the power that he has to make it as right as possible, I think so.
Is there a small silver lining here, definitely. Does it outshine the darkness, not really, but if Trounce keeps playing his cards just right like he is, we may just turn this shit sandwich into Chicken Cordon Bleu with a nice Chianti and some fava beans.

Comey is—and has always been—professionally non-partisan. No one even knows for sure if he belongs to a political party or for whom he has voted.
His entire career in government has shown him to be as non-partisan as it is possible to be in Washington.
