Gee, thanks Suze – if you held your finger to the wind any longer, you would have gotten frostbite.

This morning Sessions already offered to recuse himself “if it is appropriate.”

But really that’s not enough. He has to resign.

Unfortunately whether he resigns or recuses himself it’s not going to fix the problem as far as an independent investigation is concerned. As Louise Mensch (who is absolutely essential reading–she called this on Sessions, among many other things) notes, there was an executive order that made Dana Boente next in line at Justice. This is someone who is also deeply implicated in the scandal, again according to Mensch.

Trump is still trying to figure out why Dems are trying to “rescue” not recuse Sessions.

Well, at least that’s something already known… with scrutiny getting increasingly intense, he might not be able to do his thing and get away with it. At least that’s what I am hoping…

But I am having hard time wrapping my mind around this… Comey is an Obama appointee, so is Boente. SMH.

There’s battle lines being drawn . . .

In the internecine war between the "Recusalists" and the "Denialists."

It’s time we stop, hey, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down

“Comey is an Obama appointee, so is Boente” Really? I didn’t know that about Boente. Maybe Mensch is wrong about him?

He was then appointed by Trump as the DOJ No.2. But he’s there since the Obama time, and took over as Acting AG when Yates was fired.

ETA:
Now unlike Yates, this guy didn’t seem to have any real problem with defending that infamous EO, so you never know.

No Collins, he should resign. We can’t have the justice department tainted with a someone who has committed perjury.

Susan Collins never needs to worry about “Profiles in Courage” doing a piece on her.
