If you’re keeping score that’s Colbert 2,436 - O’Reilly 0
It’s a risk for Bill O’Reilly anytime he tries to imitate a human being.
On a serious note, this interview contained more of the David-Brooks-esque equivocation we’ve all come to love lately, trying to paint both Trump and Sanders as two sides of the same coin.
So let me just see if I get this straight. One man thinks he can call Bill Gates to get the internet shut down, or that he can deport 11 million people in any kind of timely or legal manner, or that women using the bathroom is disgusting, or that he could theoretically shoot someone on the street and not only get away with it, but be even more popular because of it.
Meanwhile, the other man says we can provide free tuition to state schools, which is something they do in several countries already successfully, and which is something the US government has already done for millions of people over the last half-century+ with the G.I. Bill.
How are Trump and Sanders “the same” again?
remember who said it…
His best shot would be to imitate an angry blowhard imitating O’Reilly.
“Trump and Sanders are the same guy because they’re tapping into the anger of the voter who feels they’re getting hosed,” O’Reilly said. "On the right, they don’t like the fact that there’s an open border, they can’t solve that problem. That ISIS’s beheading Americans, nothing really happening to ISIS."

He needs to get back to the unfinished manuscript of The Killing of O’Reilly
… they’re both Angry White Men!.. Why can’t you see it!!!..
Bill repeats one of the dumbest arguments against single-payer – countries like Denmark can do it, because they have smaller populations, but we can’t because our population is bigger. That would make sense if Denmark had the same size economy as the U.S., but a smaller population. But obviously we not only have more people, we also have a much larger economy. If anything, a single payer system in the U.S. could be even more efficient in the U.S. because of economies of scale. But for some reason there is never any push-back against this incredibly dumb argument…
It’s as if politicians and pundits were out there arguing that a subway system might work in Ottumwa, Iowa, because of its small population, but would never work in NYC because there would be too many riders – and somehow no reporter called them on it!
The sound of no pencil scribbling…
I think O’Reilly and Trump are the same person. Loud, imperative, always better-than-thou, patronizing. No wonder they don’t like each other. I would find each other disgusting too.
Of all the things on the internet, this is definitely NOT stroke material.
What an incredibly smug and conceited idiot. He makes several awkward deprecatory comments trying to establish dominance (O’Reilly’s raison d’etre), while at the same time trying to match wits and keep up with Colbert’s improvisations-on-a-theme…talk about bringing a knife to a gunfight. Sad.
