Discussion: Cohen Downplays Ties To Close Friend Now Cooperating With Govt

Slightly OT, but…

“The agents assigned to the case used the least invasive, most conservative means to investigate the evidence they had.”

Yes, but the more I think on it, the more I’ve come to realize that there is probably no other method that could possibly inflict more psychic damage on Trump than an informant. Remember, this is a guy who values loyalty (as a form of worship) so far above all else that he actively tests it by having his minions prove their loyalty by humiliating and debasing themselves both privately and publicly. An informant…someone known and trusted to be loyal but who is actively “betraying” Trump by passing on information that could get him caught, prosecuted and jailed…is the antithesis of that self-debasing, worshipful loyalty. Leaks are one thing, and he looses his noodles over those for similar reasons, but an informant? I expect his behavior in regards to the informant issue to spiral downwards rather rapidly.

They were not "raided."

They were searched pursuant to a legally-obtained search warrant.
Even Cohen said the FBI personnel were courteous and polite.

Stop using the GOP framing of the issue.

“I am one of thousands of medallion owners who entrust management companies to operate my medallions according to the rules of the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission. Gene Freidman and I are not partners and have never been partners in this business or any other.”

Well, in that case, I’m sure the entire criminal probe is a comical misunderstanding to be cleared up in short order.

Doesn’t he mean a glorified covfefe boy?

Uh-oh spaghetti-os, BBC says Cohen was paid $400K by Ukraine to arrange meetings with Trump.

Great description…ill-bred middle-schoolers.

But wait, there’s even more. Now how much would you pay?

You’re the second person to kindly mention it. They’re just intensely obnoxious in a way that’s characteristic of certain young boys.

Well, I’m not sure it really, really works yet.

@mattinpa Yeah, but you gotta admit Matt, that “Says who?” always stops 'em dead in their tracks.

It worked the first time. But does it work every time?

Seriously it was pretty amazing. The look on her face.

“Why, saying I personally know that man is like saying I am a personal friend of the President of the United States! Oh, wait…”

Every f’n day there’s a new report about some foreign government giving money to Cohen for access to Trump. The corruption is breathtaking. But what are we to do? I’m not convinced that Muller’s eventual report will make a difference, though at least the truth may be revealed.

Erik Pince and Jared both lie through their teeth to Congress, but there’ll be no prosecution from the GOP leaders.

As I said earlier. I’m not very sanguine this morning.

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey, now Paul Wood of the BBC (yes, the same Paul Wood who was one of the first (if not the first?) to report about the Steele Dossier claims) is reporting that Cohen took a 400k payment from a rep of the current President of Ukraine to get a meeting with Trump. Following said meeting, Ukraine suspended/dropped its own investigation into Paul Manafort, and Ukraine bought a shipment of arms from the US.

So Mikey is in a lot of fucking trouble here.

He wasn’t registered as a UKR lobbyist when he took this payment and lobbied Trump on their behalf to get a meeting.

We all know Trump will never allow anyone to make money off of him without getting his cut. He’s Don Fanucci from GF II. He always needs to ‘wet his beak’ a bit.

If we follow the money, I think we’ll find a flow of payments from Cohen controlled accounts to Trump controlled accounts (whether it be by the Trump Org or individual family members or LLCs controlled by such family members) that show various quid pro quos. So Mikey may have done a favor for Trump earlier (like the payments to Daniels, Bechard and god knows what else) and he got to keep 100% of these payments in return, or there was an actual set off or transfer of money where the transactions line up neatly (just as they do in the Daniels matter).

Trump, Broidy, Cohen, Nader and a whole bunch of other folks are gonna get hit with bribery, tax evasion, conspiracy and public corruption charges.

If I am ever in New York and end up taking one of these cabs, when the driver drops me off and tells me how much my fare costs, I’m going to reply, “Says who?!”

LOL. Good one.

Yes, Mikey stepped in the deep doo-doo. But please remember, beloved peeps, that it is never acceptable to joke about prison rape. Except for now.

Yep, I gotta million of 'em. And that’s one of the five that’s halfway decent.

Cohen—like Trump—has been mobbed up for dog’s years.

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for it to be widely known.
