Discussion for article #229594
And soon he’ll be running for congress again.
Remember, there’s no such thing as white privilege.
“Ex-Congressman Gets His Cocaine Bust Expunged”
Is that why they call it “Blow” ?
Would it be churlish of me to suggest that a black kid from DC would not receive the same tender consideration?
Accurate would be a better description.
OK …now let’s all go and wash our brains & forget that Radel was an actively serving member of the House of Representatives while he was caught trying to purchase cocaine in an undercover federal sting.
please, god, noooooooooooooooo…
hey, at least he wasn’t taking a bribe!
'cause that would be Wrong…
If they were a first time offender that actually fulfilled all of the terms of their probation, I doubt they would be treated differently.
Actually fulfilling those terms can be quite cumbersome, and much of it (testing for example) requires one to pay. It probably didn’t hurt that Mr. Radel was probably represented by an attorney throughout the whole process.
Being white and well connected sure does have its privileges. If his skin was black and if it had been crack instead of powder cocaine, he’d be facing hard time.
I am afraid it would not be churlish at all. Sad but true is the apt descriptor.
All the justice one can afford. Poor people need not apply.
His unofficial record is that he is a coke using, jonesing asshole that can’t get through a night without his fix. But even worse, he is a failed Republican. How shitty does a guy have to be to be too shitty to be a Republican?
Trey Radel (XR) a truly shitty politician!
And this piece of shit wanted welfare recipients to be drug tested. Think about that.
White privilege.
Twilight Trey got the standard disposition for a first time offender.
A smart opponent would never let Radel live this down.
That there is some toothpaste that isn’t getting squeezed back into the tube.
Although there is now no paperwork , people always remember . In the future it will come back to bite him . ( I wonder how thick the brown envelope was ) .
