Discussion: Coburn Pushes Big Donor For Government Contract During Hearing

(first, TPM, your comments program is not user friendly)

Secondly, Coburn’s remarks ought to bring about new legislation on what can be said with impunity during a hearing. It’s like a paid commercial that we the tax payers have to fund.

Coburn, who enabled Ensign of Nevada to carry on his sordid affairs, should left the Senate at the same time Ensign did which was right before the posse led by Barbara Boxer was closing in.

So Coburn is a craven Koch-whore; news?

“…It’s a dump…”

Your conservative voice of experience.

A Washington Republican do-nothing Congressman use to the finer things in life. And thanks for the free money.

Except nobody elected Tony Stewart.

He’s way to smart, and honest, to even consider running.

Isn’t this now an ethical problem for Coburn to say such things about a company who donated thousands to him? Or am I being too damned honest?

The same stellar company that put up a huge-screen TV monitor that unfortunately got in the way during kick-offs and punts?

And It’s so nice to see the respected Senator leaving office with his head held high in such dignity.

And just yesterday there was a report about how elected folks expect campaign cash for their votes…quid-pro-quo…
Co-incidence here Mr Coburn?

Cowboys Stadium? Manhattan Construction? Cheaper?

Ahem.

“Originally estimated to cost $650 million, the stadium’s current construction cost has been pegged between $1.12 and $1.3 billion, making it one of the most expensive sports venues EVER built.”

Suck. On. That. Senator.

Second Republican this week to admit they take bribes and extend favor in exchange for them.

Who was it that was touting Coburn the other day as a replacement for Eric Shinseki at Veterans Affairs, saying that he was a “reformer?” Oh, yeah, Crankypants McCain. Heh, heh, heh.

He must have taken off the Manhattan Construction baseball cap just before that photo was taken.

Actually I like it. We would be better served if congressmen and women wore jump suits festooned with sponsored advertizing like NASCAR drivers. Wouldn’t you like to clearly know who is the Senator taking lots of money from BP or who is sponsored by Exxon when you watch a climate change hearing.

“It’s a dump,” Cordray said. “It is not opulent, and it will not be opulent when it’s finished.”

I would give $10 million I don’t have if Cordray had fired back with:

“Opulent? We weren’t trying to imitate your office, Senator. We were just working to make a decent building for people to work in. As for hiring Manhattan Construction, thanks but we didn’t want to go with one of the donors for your past campaigns.”

Betcha Tom would have been slack-jawed.
