Losing?

They never had a horse in the race.

Many, many people are saying it. Rather than pushing forward and fighting with courage for their cause, weak players choose not to play. Sad.

My first reaction exactly!

And this is a surprise to whom?

Although it is good that the MSM reporters are getting over the “both siderism” and articulating the truth about the lies.

How is this not a simple extrapolation of the shitgibbon’s and entourage performance on the campaign trail…

It wasn’t like you were not warned…

I look at the president’s approval ratings, hovering around 40%, and I question whether they’re actually losing. They only have to win enough to continue the dismantling of checks and balances.

CNN’s Jim Acosta: White House Is In ‘Losing Battle With The Truth’

True, Jim, but only in the Reality-Based Community.

In the Making-Shit-Up Community, the WH is winning. Bigly.

That is exactly what it is too. November is beginning to drive the Republican’s solely. The Truth is spinning far beyond their ability to hold on to and then manipulate. Trump’s actions are desperate, all trash and depending only on incensing his base to follow through for him. In most respects, this is a mob mentality with that sharp tang of panic. Grassely, Hatch and Graham are banging the same tin cans about. This is it, no more. On one side is a large body looking for fact, truth and justice. That does not only include liberals and Democrats, suspect there are a lot of others out there as well.

And the Republicans have just this month basically to turn it to their favor. If that Blue Wave really occurs as many think, it is game over. They have gone from playing the game with some panache to trying to bludgeon things to their side. One thing on the back of my brain, a solid “wave” will negate their ability to create plausibility over seemingly minor voting irregularities that work in their favor. You know, sudden swings away from one direction to another. That sort of thing.

If they just told they truth, they wouldn’t have to battle the truth.

Ah, but then they’d lose.

At what percentage of belief does a lie become truth?

Loosing battle with truth? How do you loose something you never had?

Because the truth is fake news.

“in a losing battle with the truth, it seems, on many days.”

as in everyday that there is a presser. the non included days (= many, not all) are the days Trump nor the press office talk to the press.

At about the same percentage that differentiates a cult from a religion.

I heard yesterday from the Right accusing the Left, “their facts are not accurate”
but, but, facts are facts.

You know it, Acosta. Readers of TPM know it. Maybe readers of the Washington Post & the NYT know it. BUT the viewers on Faux News, listeners to the dominant right wing radio stations throughout the country, and the readers of many hometown newspapers DON’T know anything resembling the facts regarding the state of our government institutions, the rollback of EPA regs, the WH war on the rule of law, and on and f**king on. That 40%+/- know nothing of the truth and don’t seem to want to know. Authoritarian followers are like that. And that is what we are up against.

The Dems may win the House and do some investigations and rein tRump in a bit. So long as the Senate stays in McConnel’s evil grip, we are doomed to have horrible judges, terrible Cabinet secretaries, and any appointment needing Senate approval. This administration has proven itself to find the worst people to populate the upper levels of government. As time goes on and the current crop of appointees leave to “spend time with family,” just imagine what the C-team will look like !!
The demise of a great country should take generations, centuries even. We might see it in our lifetime. And I am almost 70 fer chrissakes. But maybe it started with Reagan, accelerated with Gingrich & his political spawn, dumbed down with W, lurched forward with Palin, and put on steroids with tRump. I remain mildly optimistic but November will be the tell.
