I don’t know anything about how those offices are organized. The crooked friends of Giuliani were FBI as far as I know, but it makes sense that they’d be working tightly with the federal prosecutors.

Cohen is probably screwed regardless but it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if some of these inter-agency squabbles and collisions polluted the water enough to piss a judge off and spoil a prosecution or three.
