Discussion: CNN: John Kelly Was Questioned By Mueller Team About Obstruction

I think this is highly inappropriate. Heā€™s a 4 Star General!

Mr. Kelly, weā€™d like to know if Donaldā€¦

Hell yes he obstructed justice all the time! What do you want ā€“ names? videos? I have tapes, documents. Here, take it all.

Thereā€™s maybe a little bit of wiggle room re. whether a president can be subpoenaed, especially with the current make-up of the Supreme Court. Is there any doubt Kelly could have been forced to testify, short of pleading the fifth? Mueller has all the cards on that one. Iā€™m not a lawyer (as my comments make blindingly obvious), but ā€œnahhh, canā€™t make me!ā€ isnā€™t a real form of ā€œresistanceā€ in this case. Just minor stalling.

If I were he Iā€™d have given them a double helping. Theyā€™d be pushing me toward the door as the afternoon shadows lengthened, talking about dinner invitations and picking up the kids and thanks so much I couldnā€™t have been more helpful.

Thanks, that made me laugh out loud. Seriously though, with what weā€™ve learned of Kelly over the last two years, I still have no idea which way heā€™d lean on this. He obviously thinks Trump is a dolt, but is equally obviously an ideological fellow-traveler. So would he spill everything he knows? Or clam up completely? Genuinely asking

The request came, a source told CNN, after the FBI raids on Michael Cohen, when anxiety about Mueller was particularly high in the White House.

Does this imply that the anxiety inside the White House about Muellerā€™s investigation is a variable level?

This is genuine news! I thought it was color-coded orange from the beginning.

Kelly is obviously a racist and an asshole, but heā€™s not stupid. He knows better than to lie to Muellerā€™s team.
He was late to the party and Iā€™m not certain he was involved in the treason. But he shouldā€™ve had a clue by now. Why did he stay so long? Whatā€™d he tell Mueller?

OK, so Mueller questioned the Chief of Staff who came on board after Comey was fired. Did he also question the one who was there for the firing, i.e, Reince Priebus?

I mean, who wasnā€™t?

Kelly is a racist, but I peg him as one of those conservatives who bemoan the current state of affairs and would very much like to go back to hiding the racism behind gentility and paternalism and the works of Rudyard Kipling. I think heā€™d flip, and I think he sees himself as a Mueller-type figure rather than a Trump-type.

He is probably most accurately a Comey-typeā€”some kind of ethical compass, to the extent that his beliefs permit, but his first concern will be his legacy and his second concern his ideology.

4 star general but still a total shitbird.

  • Iā€™m correcting my spelling of shit bird to shitbird. I give credit for the correction to @daveminnj. He must be an old Marine.

Oh, I donā€™t think Kellyā€™s next move is remotely in question. He got out of it what he could get out of it, and now itā€™s time for not one gasoline can, but two.

BURN THE ADMINISTRATION TO THE FUCKING GROUND AND BRING MARSHMALLOWS

Yes. I believe Priebus has already been questioned.

Itā€™s interesting this news broke today, on the same day that Kellyā€™s irreconcilable differences with Trump were also noted. Perhaps he really is leaving this time? And perhaps the source for the story was Kelly himself?

As CoS, I wonder what Kelly knows about the place intrigue and how much he divulged. About Manafort, Kushner, Ivanka, Cohen, and others whoā€™ve passed through the White House.

More likely, I think, is that CNN contacted the White House for comment on the story before they ran it, and now Kelly will be persona non grata as soon as they can get the dotard to set down his cheeseburger and smear a greasy ā€˜Xā€™ with his finger at the bottom of the firing statement.

Mike Flynn is a Lieutenant General in the Army, for over 30 years. And a crook who conspired against the US. Criminality doesnā€™t respect rank, or class, or skin color, or religion.

In the US, nobody is above the law, and the military is subordinate to civilian government. Everyone can be compelled to render honest service to the wheels of justice. That includes the homeless, suburban housewives, CEOs, senators, POTUS, and yes, even military officers.

The noose is tightening; canā€™t wait to see Muellerā€™s filings today. Should ensure an absolute shitstorm of tweets from The Current Occupant tomorrow morning.
