Cruz is outraged that Obama would staff a high political office with someone who is politically savvy. Yet then he turns around and denies the appointment of an otherwise qualified person to the office of Surgeon General because of political reasons.
because they are cowards. look at how theyâre all running away from obama. iâve long thought they prefer an underdog status â theyâre absolved of all responsibility that wayâŚ
Not much of a challenge. Now the GOP insists that every Obama nominee must support the NRA?
Might have asked him if we should ban all flights in and out of Texas, which by Senator Cruzâs hysteria could well be described as the American motherlode of Ebola. Dan
If things were right in our society a smirking asshole with the worldâs most punchable face would be laughed off the set before he could open his trap and spew more bullshit.
And the NRA opposing a nominee for Surgeon General because heâs willing to admit that guns are dangerous and that they kill people? Fuck them. They must all be atheists because if they believed there is a hell they would fear for all the blood of innocent people on their filthy hands.
Why now? Why do we have to wait until thereâs a problem to ask questions about funding? Where were these journalists when the GOP was railing against spending 24/7? Was it so hard to think up a hypothetical situation in which we might not want the governmentâs response to be hobbled by budget cuts?
Ted and Rafaelâs former brethren in Cuba seem to up to the task. Maybe he can learn something from them.
Things are at a serious state. The republicans are allowed to lie on ânewsâ shows with impunity. Democratic âadvisorsâ have returned to their pre-Howard Dean scaredy-cat inside the beltway ways. And the only solution available to us? GET OUT THE VOTE. Make the time now.
now back to your regular programming
So calling gun violence a public health issue makes one a gun nut?
Maybe those who think itâs not a public health issue are the nutty ones. Like Ted Cruz.
Unfortunately, we are here and now. Spinning wheels are frustrating and aggravating, putting the world deeper into the rut. It becomes more questionable every moment whether we can dig ourselves out. The break it and complain pols moving only to serve themselves by playing to the lowest levels of behavior become creatures of another Big Lie. How low we can go remains to be seen. More greedy liars need to be held accountable. In the meantime, we all suffer their immorality.
The problem, of course, is that you cannot alter the views or opinions of Ted Cruz and his followers with reason, facts, science and logic. That is the epistemology of a liberal orientation towards the world and how knowledge of it is obtained. Cruz is a hardcore authoritarian, and he has his talking points from the authorities he represents, for whom knowledge is derived apriori from a set of ideological principles. Any âevidenceâ or âfactsâ that are offered up as unaccounted for by their model are dismissed as the products of a liberal bias, and condemned to the outer darkness, that is to say, damned, rejected ignored and discarded. Truth, for an authoritarian, comes as a matter de fide from a Popish authority. It is not questioned or challenged, and needs no proof. This is a fundamental epistemological difference between the conservative and liberal mind set, and lead to entirely different models of reality. Neither side can persuade the other, because they both have entirely different ways of attempting to understand the world around them. You canât change my mind with your belief system, and I canât change your mind with the results of my laboratory experiments, or careful observations.
Arguing with them is an exercise in futility. They will always have more answers than you have questions. And their answers never have to be subjected to independent verification.
Why would she expect any kind of a reasonable answer from this slime bucket.
How does Crowleyâs mild questioning possibly constitute the âgrillingâ that the headline states? She asked about the SG and CDC funding, and then Cruz was allowed to exude his greasy verbiage almost completely unchallenged. Iâd say itâs another win for the forces of darkness. This country is screwed if the Republicans take the Senate.
Iâd like to grill Ted Cruz with some Fava beans and a fine Chianti. But I wouldnât eat him. He is in poor taste.
I watched Chuck Todd and his puny panel today. It made me sick. Good for Candy. This is the kind of journalism you will never see on Meet the Press.
Press the Meat has been infotainment for some time, now. If you want journalism on TV, tune into the BBC. They offer up actual journalism in a televised format.
Carnival Cruz and his ilk should just relax! Every case of Ebola in this country was contracted by people who wanted and were trying to help their fellow human beings. Republicans, therefore, have NOTHING to fear.
Cruz makes a point about the surgeon general nominee. There are a number of Democrats against him as well as Republicans. I donât think he could get 50 votes. Harry Reid hasnât even scheduled a vote. I donât think he is an anti-second amendment, but we have allowed a few powerful single issue groups like the NRA to control our government. That is bad, but a President has to be willing to work within the political reality he is dealt. If not the ordinary work of Government canât get done.
That said, I am not sure the position of Surgeon General is all that important these days. The funding issue is far more important. It is a discussion worth having.
Ronnie âBonzoâ Reagan and his odious handlers didnât lift one fu*king finger until almost 21,000 Americans were DEAD from HIV/AIDS!
Now, however, and after the Republicans voted to cut monies from the CDCâs budget to research and fight Ebola, a couple of people have been infected with the Ebola virus and the entire depraved Republican Cult loses its godda*ned mind! ___________OBAMAâS FAULT!
Accept your responsibility GOPigs:** âRepublican Cuts Kill.â**
Good call. I never cease to be amazed by their comfort level with their own inconsistency and hypocrisy.
