This is recently obtained information, not old information that has been recently revealed so the SIC investigation is proceeding apace. And it’s not from Jr’s testimony to SIC or just taking his word for it, it is from phone records.
The two people on those calls are either already cooperating and gave Mueller their phone records, or they are out-of-country non-nationals, or they are crapping their drawers.

Questions:
Do Jr.’s phone records show that he ever called his father? How often? Did his father call him?
How did they usually communicate?
How often did they speak in person between when Jr. was contacted about the Russian efforts on behalf of his father and the meeting, and then in the days after the meeting? What did they discuss?
What was his father talking about when he publicly announced, just prior to the Trump Tower meeting, that in a few days he was going to give a “major speech” with new information about Hillary? Why did he never give that speech or mention it again?
Not that Adam Schiff needs me to help prepare an outline for questioning Jr. …

Nothingberder. Trump still met with Putin, knowing that the story was dropping, and prepared a statement full of lies for Jr. to put out.
Just because one particular phone call may or may not have happened doesn’t collapse the larger story (nor say that Jr. didn’t just take the elevator up one floor).

And since this was the only way Trump could have possibly known about the Trump Tower meeting (just as Michael Cohen being in Prague in August is the only way he could possibly have met with Russians) prepare for tweets: “This proves it!! No COLUSSION!!! WHICH HUNT!!!”

So, this whole thing does not seem to disprove a dang thing without any information about who the calls were to and what they were about.
And… now we get to enjoy the prospect of traitortot and/or Rudy shortly making some kind of unwise admission while gloating/prevaricating.
