Discussion: Clock Ticks As Trump Admin Is Forced To Reunite Families Separated At Border

I’m puzzled by the apparent drop off of interest in this forum about the plight of these parents and children. Granted, progress in reunification has been made, but does anyone believe this has gotten better for the hundreds of parents and children who are still separated?

If the government were expending a tenth of the effort NGO’s are investing,
this problem would have been resolved long ago.

@aliceoil has been covering this every day.

I was referring to the comments rather than TPM itself. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

Unfortunately , most of the children are victims of Dumpy`s Pedophile Ring .

I am very interested in this story, I try to comment whenever a TPM reporter or AP story pops up. The problem is that, as in this story, the information has been covered at three times. The ACLU is doing a great job in the courts, the Hispanic Caucus is trying to hold Nielsen’s feet to the fire, and now comes the hard part following up with the rest of children.
I’ve been critical from the start of the gov’t’s process. I keep wondering what is happening not only to the current batch but the “unaccompanied minors” under the Obama administration.

No this problem wouldn’t have been resolved long ago because the government, our government is acting in bad faith. They tested the shit storm out prior to the announced roll out in April 2018. Were those families counted with this current crop? What has happened to the children and parents in the early roll out? Another angle on the money spent is that the government is using our money to do this, and then some of us are donating to the NGO’s to help them financially, so we are spending more. As for the effort part you’re right the government created this Gordian knot and the NGO’s are working without little help from the government, unless they are gov’t contractors, which means they get paid for not being helpful to reunification.

There’s only so many times you can say “what a bunch of horrific torturing liars who should burn in hell”.
