Discussion: Clinton: Troops Deserve POTUS Who Understands Their Mental Health Issues

Two thumbs up!!! This needs to be a commercial on Fox and American Heroes Channel, which are watched almost exclusively by the military retirees.

As Hillary hits her stride, she continues to underscore the differences between the candidates.

Thanks for honoring and respecting our veterans and active military.

Trump is so off base here.

I’m not a veteran, but it seems to me if you’re exposed to the hell of war - to its stresses and horrors, perhaps seeing some of your close buddies injured, maimed, or killed -and you come out “normal”, I might worry about you.

Not only is it not “weak” to suffer from PTSD, I’d argue it’s a normal human reaction to extraordinary stress. We should understand it as such, and treat those folks appropriately without judgment.

Worse, it is something he knows absolutely nothing about, as he nor his children have ever served.

She’s right – and I really do hope more and more of our service members will stop to consider just what a Trump presidency would do to our nation’s security and our to those who choose to serve this nation in the Armed Forces. There is a lot at stake – and I honestly believe that Hillary Clinton is far and away the superior choice to be our Commander-in-Chief for the next four to eight years. I know that many of our active military are already supporting Hillary. I hope they can have a positive effect on their families and our retired members. Thank you.

Trump’s comments about PTSD victims being weak are disgusting and show his profound ignorance, an ignorance so vast that it apparently extends to every subject beyond TAM (tits, ass, and money).

Of course, there would be far fewer PTSD victims to treat in the first place if more Congress critters had not given Bush the green light to go to war.

But let’s not go there, KK?

I have been saying this for years!

we have to flip the narrative that seeking mental health care is “weak”. It should be seen as strength, to recognize that something is wrong and to seek the help you need! Not to suffer in silence because people will think you’re “weak”

I say this as both someone who deals with depression and as a veteran.

Damn she’s good.

And yeah, Trump is an assh*le who thinks he sacrificed something because he went to an expensive “military academy”.

I have trust in those who know their own selves: injuries, strengths, weaknesses; they have the capacity for true self introspection. I cannot trust those who haven’t the capacity for introspection, which narcissists cannot do without panicking.

I’ve had therapy off and on for 30 years. I started therapy when I found myself hiding under a desk when my then husband refused to take my misery seriously. A year before that I had had a miscarriage, been in a car accident (rearended at 80 miles an hour, my car was at a standstill, trapped) that I should have died from, my dog and grandmother had died-all within 3 months). I was shocked to be diagnosed with PTSD, along with other issues. I understand the reluctance to talk about it. After all these years and gaining confidence, I’ll talk to anyone about the benefits. It’s also more acceptable these days than it used to be 30 years ago.

Anybody who is brave enough to go to therapy has my unending support.

Trump has mental health issues. Yuuuge mental health issues. The best mental health issues. Nobody has better mental health issues than Trump. When he gets done, you’ll all be like, “Hey, Donald! Tone down the mental health issues!”

Damn bubba!
That’s progress right there!
You didn’t overtly mention AUMF or Hillary or the 1M dead she alone is responsible for.

Not one picture either.
Stay strong!

This is about PTSD. This photo is on topic:

“You mad, bro?”

Pretty distasteful in an article about PTSD, doncha think?

ETA: Oh, and I really appreciate how you edited you post to change the meaning after I had already responded. At least you had enough shame to put it in a tiny font!

#STILL PISSY BRO?

Oh my goodness! What prompted that? You began thanking me in this thread for not bringing up Hillary’s vote for the Iraq War, and a couple of posts later you’re reduced to febrile senseless howling!

Disruptive mood swings can be a sign of underlying problems. You might want to get that checked out!

I will repeat this from another thread

What does Sarah Palin think ? (yes, honestly !)

She has heard Rudy Guiliani disparage the concept of a female president and she has heard Trump describe PTSD victimas as ‘weak’.

She is a female ex-VP-candidate and has a son, which she says was ‘changed’ by his posting in Afghanistan.

She must be pissed right now…
