Christie’s McD’s runs will have to stick to the extra value menu from now on. I saw that they’re going to “2 for $2.50” soon at our local McDonald’s…couldn’t happen at a better time for the Trump campaign.
Rick Wilson (who coined Cheeto Jesus) has already labeled Trump’s operation: Scampaign.
Expenditure details are even better than the headline numbers:
Trump campaign expenses in May, per @FEC report:
Hats: $208k
Online advertising: $115k
Data management: $48k
Communications consulting: $38k
Plus some awesome self-dealing: 20% of all expenses for May were paid to Trump-owned businesses.
Yes.

Why should anyone give to Trump’s campaign? He said he was self funding.
Besides, those that usually give to Republican candidates are smart enough to know that Trump loaned money to his primary campaign instead of spending his own money. Any contributions made now will go to pay off those loans not fund the coming campaign.
The Palin People believe that Trump is still self-funding so they aren’t gong to send in money. They will only buy Trump hats and merchandise. Besides, they are tightwads and cads just like Trump anyhow.
You have to believe that the traditional big GOP contributors have to be thinking long and hard about giving money to even the Republican candidates down the ballot from Trump. How good of an investment would that be with Trump such a drag on the entire ticket?
When conservatives screw up, they make a major muddle of it.
He’s po’ but proud.
Now we know why Drumpf qualifies for the tax credit for those making 500k or less.
According to another article here, he spends that campaign money he’s loaned himself exclusively on his own properties, plane rides and tRump products. Biggest grift he’s got going so far. I think he’s running for Grifter-in-Chief.
The smart move by the RNC would be to spend its funds on down ballot races but can the Party afford to have its standard bearer be so dramatically down in the polls leading up to election day?
But don’t let me help them figure out this clusterfuck of theirs.
The numbers I want to see are from the Sanders campaign, which was also supposed to report Monday. I’m thinking that perhaps Bernie has more cash on hand than Trump…
A socialist with more cash on hand than a billionaire. Schadenfreudealicious.

Trump Café $94.61? That’s one expensive taco salad!
Wow. $607.59 for Taco Bowls?
$600 of that is the fine for employing an undocumented worker from Mexico.
This is wonderful! Donald “the draft dodging coward” Trump was going to lose anyway, but unless he can raise an enormous amount of outside money (he would never spend his own), he is automatically road kill on the highway to the White House. I love it!
Actions have consequences. The GOP decided 8 years ago to treat POTUS Barack Obama with complete disdain. They were going to do everything they could to make him a one term POTUS. That didn’t work.
Then they proceeded to continually disrupt his second term. This forced him to use Executives orders. So be it. Then they devolved into whiney little brats throwing temperature tantrums in the middle of the floor.
When the primary season rolled around, they opened up the door to the clown car AGAIN. In deference to out do themselves on message, they allowed this charlatan asshole to become their standard bearer.
Actions have consequences.
The prospect of what could happen from all this…The first woman POTUS, an up and coming young Hispanic becoming the next VPOTUS, giving another group of voters something to be extremely proud of. The important possibility of flipping the Senate and keeping my fingers crossed - the House. The next Dem POTUS will have the chance to flip the SCOTUS - thank goodness. The list goes on.
Throughout all this President Obama has proven that lame duck presidency is not necessarily a given. He’s more popular at this stage than any other POTUS.
I wish to extend my thanks to the GOP for everything they’ve done. Even if it’s causing my beloved grandfather to turnover in his grave.
Several news orgs do some digging into his charitable giving. It turns out, Trump has not given one single dollar to any charity since 2008…when he gave just $35,000. Instead he gives away freebie stuff like rounds of golf that cost absolutely nothing.
And I suspect the big worry about these numbers is…Trump wants to use even this pittance of a warchest to pay back his loans from the primary; a move that would almost certainly destroy any future fund raising efforts.
Its going to be quite interesting to see how he deals with getting his loans paid back after the campaign…because right now, there is no chance they won’t be under water by November (probably by early Sept.)
It’s a shame I live in a solidly blue state.
Yeah…that’s been one of the dirty little “secrets” that the press has been largely sitting on so far. Trump has been grifting his own campaign, as well as the national press corp, by herding everyone towards Trump businesses.
For example, its not just that Trump doesn’t like staying in strange hotels while campaigning. He flies home to either NY or Mar Largo because…then so does the press, or at the very least, they have to keep people at those locations for interviews in the evening/mornings. And guess where they stay/eat?
Yes, I think with the huge increase in campaign spending resulting from Citizens United, it could be that some campaign operatives have set up side businesses as ad buyers in order to reap a windfall.
A few years ago, someone pointed out that Karl Rove’s networks spent over $300 million in 2012, and that if he had received the customary 15 percent commission rate on ad buys, he could have grossed $40-50 million off of the ads he placed on behalf of his clients.
