Discussion: Clinton Doesn't Find Trump Funny Anymore: 'He's Gone Way Over The Line' (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #243679

This kind of criticism (although true) does not dissuade his followers. What does work is to criticize his business smarts. The more people know about Trump’s many failed business deals–the lost lawsuits, the bankruptcies–the less they like his other opinions.

NBC has late night programming? I didn’t know

I think his followers are pretty immune to any criticisms of Trump at this point. They are committed (and should be in the other meaning of the word).

What this does, is start to lay the ground work for potentially reaching some of the more “moderate” republicans to switch sides. Even people that don’t like Hillary, are already seeing her as the person best able to deal with the world for our country right now. She is seen as tough and reasonable. This just helps underline that.

No one is trying to dissuade his followers. Everyone, at this point even Republicans, recognize that that’s futile. It’s all about getting passive supporters off their asses and getting anyone who might suffer extreme butthurt if, say, their preferred candidate doesn’t win the Democratic primary, looking at the larger picture. And, of course, above all, making a stab at getting some of the five percent who are insufficiently civic minded to pay any goddamn attention between campaign seasons but too civic minded to not vote thinking, for that five percent decides all close presidential elections in this nation.

Big Door’s attitude gets compared to the Japanese Relocation at the start of America’s entry into World War II but actually, it’s more like the racism after the Gold Rush in California.

Seriously. Back then, not only couldn’t Chinese become citizens, they couldn’t attend school, couldn’t testify in court cases, civil or criminal; they couldn’t own real estate, they couldn’t work on irrigation projects, the rooms in their houses had to be a certain size, people who transported Chinese to California were subject to a bigass fine unless the Chinese had a special certificate stating they were “of good character,” but it really didn’t matter a few years later because ship captains were prohibited from even LANDING Chinese on the California coast until the state Supreme Court said that law was bullshit in 1862. On top of all of that they were subject to special taxes that white people were not.

ALL of this Gold Rush Racism sounds like something Big Door would spew on the stump. ALL of it. Not only Californai but then there were some restrictive federal laws as well. I think the president at the time a lot of that became law was Chester Arthur. That’s how you make America great again? By taking us back to the glories of the Arthur Administration?

I am not sure what Trump’s game really is, but he is mocking the GOP and exposing them to what they really are.

Bill Clinton urged him to run, I now see why.

It’s time to stop living in denial, people: the GOP/Teatrolls have now quite literally gone from “we need to stop Islamic terrorists” to “fuck it, we think Islamic terrorism is to our political advantage and is giving us the excuse to say and do all the things we’ve wanted to say and do, but couldn’t, for ages.” The symbiosis and the extremism feedback loop are now INTENTIONAL. Stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Seth Myers, or paint drying?

i think what will finish the trump is when his dipshitness hits his bottom line hard. when the trump brand is seriously diminished, the donald will pay attention. BOYCOTT TRUMP PRODUCTS! stay in other hotels. gamble in other casinos. let his business co-partners know you are ditching them.

Not so sure. I think that, like the NH state rep, his True Blue supporters will conclude that all those facts are lies created to make St. Donnie look bad. Facts mean nothing to those with “sincerely held beliefs.”
