Discussion: Climate Change Denier Inhofe Tells Pope To 'Stay With His Job'

Let him run his shop, and we’ll run ours
Exactly what is your shop, Senator? Seems to me that Pope Francis, who represents Catholics around the globe has a greater “shop” then any one Senator will ever have

Not to Southern Baptists and assorted other fundys.

And your job is deny science at the expense of the economic and moral implications?

He’s a masters-degreed chemist, Inhofe, you stupid ignorant redneck fuck.

BTW I gotta say the best thing about twitter is telling jagoffs like Inhofe and Paul Ryan to go fuck themselves with Donald Trump’s cock right to their twitter faces.

It would have been a Bachelors of Science, not a Bachelors of Arts if it were sciency.

I thought his shop was their shop.

The encyclical will make very clear that humans have a moral obligation to preserve creation, while giving due regard to the conclusive scientific evidence of manmade climate change. It seems to me that the Pope has left the science to the scientists and will address the world from his appropriate position as a faith leader. What is Sen. Inhofe’s platform? Recipient of fossil fuel bribery?

It’s another Koch-creature.

Unfortunately, not true. His degrees are decidedly ecclesiastically oriented, though he did study chemistry.

Pope Francis has training in chemistry through Escuela Técnica Industrial N° 27 Hipólito Yrigoyen where he got a chemical technician’s diploma. He worked for Hickethier-Bachmann Laboratory for several years before becoming a priest. While this means that he is not a theoretical chemist, he is a trained chemist with practical experience.

Of course if His Holiness was on the same side as this Koch-freak, Inhofe would be singing the praises of Pope Francis.

Inhofe, go fuck yourself.

As for Sloshy Santorum, I’m sure the pope will listen to you you phony hypocritical asshole.

This issue seems to be all over the place. I’ve read some sources saying he has a BA in chemistry other not.

Numerous press reports are saying that Pope Francis has a master’s degree in chemistry, including one that incorrectly cites me as a source. Sorry, it is not true.
It is true that Pope Francis studied chemistry and worked as a chemist prior to entering the seminary. But Jorge Bergoglio never graduated from university prior to entering the seminary.

“For Bergoglio’s generation, a university education was still something pretty much beyond the reach of his social class,” explains Jesuit Fr. Arthur Liebscher, associate professor of Latin American church history at Santa Clara University. “Although Argentine education is completely free of charge, there was an elitist air to finishing a licentiate or doctorate. Bergoglio took advantage of what was available, and it wasn’t bad.”

First word I associated with this story was ‘arrogance’.

Where Pope F. replied with gracious charm:

Enlighten up Sen Inhofe!

How ironic. The Chair of the Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works who is a global warming denier and avid Creationist tells the pope who studied chemistry to “stick to his job as head of the Catholic Church.” One might demand the precisely same thing of Imhofe, only he would not get the irony.

Keep hearing a lot of talk about Dominion, but when do they ever mention anything about Stewardship?

You can’t have the first without the second, or you won’t have the first anymore.

We can blame Mitch McConnell and the GOP caucus in the Senate as a whole for putting somebody who despises science and scientists in charge of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology. Republicans practice organized nihilism when it comes to government, especially since Reagan was POTUS. This is like making a serial pedophile the leader of the boy’s choir in church . . . oh wait, bad example. This is like appointing the head of Phillip Morris as head of the American Cancer Society . . . nah, also a bad example. This is like appointing the head of the KKK as Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
