I remember reading Kevin Phillips 1968 book about the new Republican storm, and witnessed the Southern Strategy unfold. Don’t forget, that (as Rick Perlstein so brilliantly explained) we are all still living in NixonLand. The the dedication of that book was to all the Americans who were killed at the hands of other Americans during the 60’s and Nixon’s rise to power.
