Discussion for article #224072
Based on a NBC/WSJ poll, you opine that Obama is over?
Isnât that a bit hyperbolic and silly, Chuck?
Clearly Chuck Todd is just reporting on perceptions he himself helps shape, aka âfacts.â Report, analyze, repeat. What is it with some people? Does Chuck Todd have to report and analyze the facts about what some people perceive to be his reporting and analysis of what other facts could potentially mean based on his analysis of other reporting on the analysis of reporting of peopleâs analysis of his previous reporting? Besides, itâs not his job!
And Chuck Todd is thrilled THRILLED that Drudge mentioned him.
Chuck never turned on Obama as he was never on his side to begin with.
Unlike some in blogosphere, I donât insert my opinions either way. So there is no âturningâ. I simply report and analyze.
Analyze. IOW, give your opinion.
Sheesh.
Right. Facts are facts. And the fact is that a poll runs the country. The great chuck Todd has analysed and made his determination. Obama should just quit.
Wait, I thought it wasnât Chuck Toddâs job to correct misinformation spouted by Drudge and Republicans? Unless itâs Chuck Toddâs job to protect Chuck Toddâs job at all costs? Shouldnât that be the White Houses job?
What did Chuck say a few months ago about how it wasnât the mediaâs job to report facts?
(not a rhetorical question, itâs legit)
As asinine as Chuck Toddâs analysis is, Drudgeâs take on the subject (which pretty well matches the rest of the right-wing hive mind) is worse. Anything outside of the Fox bubble is in the tank for Obama, so naturally, any time they say or do something negative towards Obama itâs necessarily âturning.â
Never mind, I found it:
So much for the aphorism that polls reflect a mere snapshot in time, which may or may not be anything more than transitory.
Iâm sorry, but itâs not Chuck Toddâs job to call out why Drudge is wrong about Chuck Todd ⌠heâs not supposed to be selling that âŚ
MSNBC host Chuck Todd said Wednesday that when it comes to misinformation about the new federal health care law, donât expect members of the media to correct the record.
He said the media shouldnât do the job the White House has failed to do. But until people signed up, it was sort of hard to tout the program. Instead, all the negative reporting by the media kept some people from doing just that.
Wonder what heâs saying about that now.
Todd is a walking zero and calling him a stenographer insults the stenographer.
That being said, his comments underscore the fact that a Congress which uses procedural rules, the MSM and the Wingnut Noise Machine to aggressively block every act and utterance of this President can, in fact, stop government in its tracks, alter it or certainly slow it down appreciably. Not to mention the fact that the Fourth Estate has been criminally negligent in pointing this out for about five years. This is not Parliamentary Procedure Europe. The U.S. government is heavily weighted toward Congressional authority.
Many people, euphoric that Mr, Obama won in 2008, were ignorant of that. Those who wished to stop Mr. Obama in his tracks were highly cognizant of it. Their 2010 takeover of one half of one third of the Government of the United States of America (The House of Representatives) and the subsequent âelectionâ of John Boehner as de facto President underscores this.
No legislation will be passed for at least 30 months because President Boehner will not allow it.
This is the political landscape that Chuck Todd is âreportingâ on. What he should be saying is a version of what I am saying here.
If this were another country with different socialization patterns, different standards for certain age cohorts and less of a tendency to continually resurrect as many wedge issues (like this obsession with âraceâ) as possible, perhaps the public would demand a halt to infotainment disguised as ânewsâ. Perhaps the public would fathom that one day every two years (voting day) is a reasonable price to pay for the only thing on earth that can control rapacious corporate OR political tyrants: representative government.
very few times has Todd NOT expressed an opinion, he is asked for his opinion all of the time when heâs on air. WTF Chuckie, smile and say cheese.
BREAKING: Drudge embraces âskewedâ polls.
The tautology here is epic.
Didnât Todd begin his career sporting that same goatee on SCTV? (âLetâs go to the vuddeo.â)
Loved his cover of âTurning Japaneseâ, but he really should stick to late-night music and avoid politics.
HIS PRESIDENCY IS OVER!!! *

- definitely not an opinion
Oh neat! Auto-bullets. Anyway, I was trying to be clever, but I guess TPMâs super, awesome, not at all annoying comment system is more clever than me.
