Discussion: Chuck Todd Splits US Into 'Starbucks Nation' And 'Chick-Fil-A Country' (VIDEO)

I agree with you. Such a retarded segment. I eat at Chik-fil-A all the time, I love it. Chuck must feel he adds “Drama” by dividing the country even further than it is already divided.

You said just what I was going to say. Can’t anyone imagine hiring an intelligent news person?

I caught the last 5 mins or so of that show flipping channels this morning and he was going on about how Dems in red districts were needing to act like Repukes in order to get elected, essentially by disavowing the President on certain issues. That’s the depth of this asshole’s thinking. Is there any Repukes that have to moderate and disavow Teabagger bullshit in essentially blue districts now that the primaries are over? If there are, you won’t hear about it on MTP. According to Toady Todd, Stuff like that only works one way…

This guy is a corporate bean counter shill…Any seriously deep political analysis is lost on him entirely. So really, fuck him. They can elevate him to whatever high-profile position at NBC they want. It doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s really not the intellectual powerhouse they’d like him to be no matter how hard he tries to pretend. In fact, he’s rather pedantic. The guy can encourage anyone to go back to sleep in a heartbeat on a Sunday morning.

That should get your ratings up Mr Toad. Why don’t you have the Kardashians on your panel everyone loves them. Maybe you could get the Duck Dynasty crew to come on and explain why everyone but them is going to hell. They could explain how you and them are going to get your money into heaven. Ted Nugent is lookinf for a fiendly show to do his pontificating. The future looks so bright Mr Toad go for it.

Not a choice between fast food brands.
Our country is divided between those with healthcare, and those who tie chicken bones around their neck for ailments like their granny told them to.

Kansas has 13 Chick-Fil-A locations and over 60 Starbucks.

Say hello to Senator Orman.

Just turn off your TV and Mr. Todd loses his superpowers. Consider reading, or the radio, except…

This is incredibly stupid. I live in Nacogdoches, Tx. Its as rural and red as it gets. It’s Louie “Terror Babies” Gohmert’s district. We have a Star Bucks. Even conservatives like good coffee. Wow.

Is this proof of:

A: NBC feels both groups are too stupid to understand a much more nuanced reality, or

B: NBC is now run by people who are too stupid to understand a much more nuanced reality

?

You make the call.

NBC is owned and run by conservatives.

The end.

Funny how the corporate media doesn’t talk about Obamacare anymore now that its become a success, met all its benchmarks to date, and is basically doing what it set out to do, both by way of the federal budget and in providing the access it promised.

If you ever wanted to understand how Republicans can get away with ridiculing the ACA and the President, even long after the ACA has proven a success, its because corporate media won’t call them out on the years they spent deriding it, going out of their way to lie about it, and won’t draw attention to its positive results across the country still to this day, even when the facts have clearly been demonstrated to prove them wrong on so many levels. That’s what you call aiding and abetting Republicans, who continue to face no consequence for years of false advertising and bullshit rhetoric. Republicans did that lying in part as a way to campaign for the next election in order to hold their seats. And Toady Todd was and still is at the head of that parade…

I wonder what would happen if they polled outside of the adult onset diabetes crowd? Deep fried food or oversweetened weak coffee, yeah, give me some more of that!

Just what do the voters caught in the produce section of the grocery stores think? Christ, then there’s the home-garden divide, where the real wing-nuts stay at home all day, dreaming up terrorist acts and how to schedule them and still be able to pickle their own vegetables.

Hmmmm… any info on how much advertising $ Starbucks and Chick-fil-a spend in advertising at NBC?

I get a sausage egg and cheese and a dark coffee at Starburcks.
That means I’m just left of center.

Conventional wisdom in a goatee. I’m sure his bosses think Todd is “hip”. Such drivel.

How long until they replace this load?

Tell me what corporate media giant these days isn’t. I can’t think of any. They all are working against net neutrality as well. Take away that, and the public with be solely at the mercy of these rightwing media corporate heads and their conglomerates.

I remember watching “This Week” on ABC in the early 2000s, and then I remember not watching it, because George Stephanopoulos was in permanent election mode. The horse race was everything, the policy consequences nothing. You’d think politics was just another team sport. I haven’t watched any Sunday shows or mainstream political comment since then. There are people worth listening to, but not among those Calvin Trillin calls “Sabbath Gasbags.”
