Discussion: Chuck Todd Laments 'Gotcha' Journalism, Click-Bait

Yup. Sounds like this one hit close to home.

Chuck Todd is everywhere. He is creating news on a daily basis. Does anyone remember Tim Russert ever making the news about himself. This guy is a disaster for NBC.

David Gregory, Todd's predecessor on "Meet the Press," lodged a similar criticism last month, decrying both the media's "laziness" and its willingness to go along with established narratives.

Wait, did the last 6 years of Meet The Press just flash before my eyes?

True… except for the in-depth coverage of the exploits of drunk members of the Palin family. For that, TPM goes all in.

Doubtlessly stated with no discernible trace of irony, let alone self-awareness.

“We’re destroying the process together here. The media isn’t doing it on their own.” - C. Todd
That is like a rapist saying that they were doing it together.
We expect the politicians to try to influence the media. But when the media goes along happily we call that a crime.
Chuck Todd is not a real journalist, he’s a cop out.

Why does MSNBC constantly have a “Breaking News” or “Breaking” on its website? Why, Chuck, why?

Well if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle Chuck Todd.

I lament the existence of Chuck Todd.

Hey, what’s up chuck?

Chuckie’s a hard-right Republican trying to pass as a journalist. That his network falls for it says volumes about that network. He should just join Faux Nooz so he can be himself.

“But what I’m curious about – every candidate that complains about this, are they going to not have opposition researchers feeding the press? I mean, I’m not saying – look, the press should be grown up enough to say, ‘Well, what am I doing?’ But this is a two-way street. We’re destroying the process together here. The media isn’t doing it on their own.”

this is just priceless. So he is acknowledging that the press is “being fed”. At least he is honest. Yes, Todd that is a problem. When the press is being fed. The press should be doing it’s own investigations/research. You are not a baby. You should not be spoon-fed. Yes, you are indeed destroying the press here. But thank god there are other non-mainstream journalists doing the work for you.

Hey, give the devil his due! If Todd is finally calling out to nonsense, maybe the the pendulum is finally starting to swing back.
