Discussion: Christie Lovingly Praises 'Born To Run' After Dissing Springsteen

Discussion for article #239776

“It is my desert island disc,” Christie continued.

A desert island might be the only place that you could win an election about now, Chrispy. Why don’t you take your copy of “Born to Run” to one and give a go?

Christie THINKS he was born to run.

Does he not understand that the causes Springsteen advocates for today are the ones he would reject in forming an administration (as if), income equality, civil rights, opposition to the military-industrial complex, etc. Springsteen has the good sense to stay quiet on fanboy’s nonsense as does Bon Jovi also an Obama supporter.

I couldn’t imagine if my #1 stiffie inducing idol disliked me and everything I stood for and everyone knew it.

He deserves that and more.

Christie has long been a superfan of “The Boss,” having reportedly attended 130 Springsteen concerts.

And yet he somehow failed to hear the message.

Christie’s desperation is showing…

Are you talking about conservatives and Jesus?

One of the few albums I’ve managed to hang on to all these years (well that and Pearl).

Solitary confinement disk?
Born To Powerwalk In The Exercise Yard.

Those who can’t Do, Sing.

How can he be so on-point when it comes to liking Springsteen’s music and such a venal bastard when it comes to everything else?

Its definitely a great one, though I still prefer Greetings from Asbury Park if we are talking Springsteen.

Born to Run spoke to the wounded masculinity of blue-collar American menfolk. But while Bruuuuuce meant to address the economic shafting of the Rust Belt, and its abandonment by warmongering money men, douches like Christie read into it their own boo-boos – their racist, misogynist rage at losing a little bit of their privilege to the civil rights and women’s liberation movements (and not at losing their way of life to greedheads on Wall Street and their flunkies in Washington). It’s an old story – idiots never listen to the damn lyrics, they just project their own stuff onto the powerful emotional totems of a great song or album.

Lose/lose. Bon Jovi is a huge Dem. CC can’t win, and that’s a good thing.
