There is an upside to all of this, of course. Every dollar that a Tea Partier spends tilting harmlessly at windmills is a dollar that won’t be available to cause any real harm. McDaniel should be encouraged to keep up the good fight!
It’s a bit like bidding up your competitor at an auction - you may not want the item, but if you can get him to waste some of his money on it, he’ll have less available cash for the next lot.
