And this guy is on our side?
Sheeesh.
So much for the vaunted Fourth Estate.
Someone who should have run could have beaten the guy that did if only she’d put her pretty face on TV more.
Wonderful analysis Chris.
Chris, with all due respects, go fuck yourself.
She ran away from the President the same way Grimes did. Corbett would have slaughtered her.
Vaunted? It’s been bought lock, stock and barrel by the Right Wing Noise Machine for years!
I stopped watching Hardball about 3-4 years ago and he’s one of the reasons I stopped watching election returns on MSNBC after 2010.
I’m watching MSNBC but I simply can’t take Matthews any longer. He is such a gasbag. Time to move to Al Jezeera…
Well that was a mistake. Unless you want to watch Ali Velshi felate Grover Nordquist…
I stopped watching Hardball W/Chris Matthews years ago for the same reason most people tire of Matthews, the constant interruption of of his guest before they could get two words out of their mouths. Its time for MSNBC to put the young guns front and center in doing election returns. Chris Matthews is not without value on election night, he has a lot of experience in covering politics, and is a true blue democrat. But its time to spotlight the daytime talent on election nights.
Hardly.
He’s such a clown now, spittle flyng silliness time and time again.
I’m sick of Tweety, a repulsive, ignorant nonentity, like so many at NBC.
He makes a bad night worse
Mathew’s jumped the shark 14 years ago when he developed a big crush on GWB. Unfortunately, in this case, he just stating reality. The fact is, good looking people get elected more easily than ugly people. In shouldn’t be that way, of course, but it is.
That all just sounds bad. Kinky but still bad.
Like a hooker or town slut, you know.
Maybe the lady just wanted to win on the merits and issues, odd as that may seem.
And yeah, Chris Matthews is so beyond his sell date. We need the young guns.
And this discussion thread, dear friends, shows why we lose races we shouldn’t: we focus on the hole (no pun intended) instead of the doughnut.
Attractive or not, if you don’t go on TV, you lose. If you’re attractive (male or female) and you don’t go on TV, you lose.
Matthews’ comments were instructive.
And we looked right past them to peck away at that shiny object.
SMH!
I doubt very much that he meant attractive like physically attractive. Allyson Schwartz is 66 years old. Matthews uses that word quite often to describe candidates who appeal to voters.
