Chris Christie: the Eric Alterman of politics.
You got 11 likes Darcy including me.!!!
The Puffer fish looks thinner to me
Whatās REALLY funny is, this was actually showing some temper control. A year ago, heād have gone for the throat, in her face, venom in the voice. Even his biggest attempt at control and he still comes off like a big bully.
Iām pleased that the citizens of NJ are asking the truly important questions.
Not to mention the, ya know, physical aspects of a national candidacyā¦
Well if heās going to answer clear questions with such nebulous answers he should expect some confusion. Douchebag.
Yes it was. I must concur ⦠and TY.
Youāre too kind.
Pacing like a rat in a cage.
man has zero impulse control - really ⦠and it is likely to destroy him in any of several ways.
- the political ways are nearly infinite
- personal health issues are significant too -
he had the lap-band surgery that limited the quantity of food that he took in ⦠but it looks a bit like he has not modified his eating and is still eating jumbo portions - that is actually a danger if you have had that surgery.
I hope āBruceā calls him out for the name dropping toad that he is.
Same amount of skin as the rest of us, but his is stretched over a much larger area.
Iām tired of progressive people making jokes about his weight. We are supposed to be people with empathy. These jokes are simple, crude, anti-intellectual and potentially offensive to non-Christie people with weight issues.
And these jokes are unnecessary. There is plenty of humor and irony to be observed about Christieās demeanor and politics.
I appreciate this site as a community of thoughtfulness, insight and wisdom. But whenever I read comments in a Christie article here I get sad.
Josh Marshall called this a year and a half ago (before bridge gate). Christie just does not have the temperament to be commander in chief, with his finger on the button of our nuclear weapons. No Democrat will ever have to make this case. His own Republicans will kill him with it in the primaryās.
To bad, he would have made a great candidate for Dems to run against. Damn.
How about the emotional rollercoaster of 4-8 years in office. I donāt think the last 6+ years have been all that easy for Obama considering how he gets lambasted by republicans at every turn. In the same sentence republicans have criticized Obama for doing too much/too little with regard to any decision he has made.
It looks to me ⦠and Iām a considerable distance from New Jersey, like Christie has lost considerable weight since the bariatric surgery he underwent. He is still over weight but he is making good progress.
Bariatric surgery isnāt gonna make you lose all the weight in 20 minutes. Christie had the surgery 18 months ago. How long do you think it takes to lose 150-200 pounds? And then keep it off? OK 18 months (at 30 days a month) equals 540 days. Say for talking purposes Christie had to lose 200 pounds. That works out to .3703 pounds a day. fully a third of a pound a day or put another way 2.59 pounds a week or 10.37 pounds a month. That is nothing to sneeze at.
I didnāt say this to defend his notorious thin skin. Just his weight loss.
