You can’t handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives! You don’t want the truth, because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like “honor”, “code”, “loyalty”. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said “thank you”, and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

“I have no problem as long as we achieve our objective. And our objective is to get the guys who did 9/11 and it is to avoid another attack against the United States,” Cheney responded.
And of course, Cheney’s administration and team did not get the people who did 9/11. They did not kill bin Laden.
What they did accomplish was to taint our name and reputation, create more terrorism and ill-will against us and damage our economy. I have to wonder what their true objectives were.

Cheney has pulled off his “sincerer than thou” act for a long time. But I know shit from shinola and so does Todd…and he should have done something about it.
So Cheney thinks its OK that 25 % of the folks we tortured were innocent from the get go and he seems OK with the fact that some innocent were murdered. But he says so in Cheney Style a blunt in your face but phony tough guy tenor that implies he’s coming from a real world no one else can know. He’s really full of himself which is to say he is full of shit. And much to much a coward to ever admit he was wrong.

Or something to that effect was said by Benjamin Franklin ( the original quote comes from Sir William Blackstone ) and it seems to be at odds with Cheney. I’m going with Franklin.
Am all wrong here in seeing nothing but self serving self adoring schtick coming out of Cheney every time they put a camera on him? Am I being overly critical when I say the guy is a complete phony and NOT the brilliant patriot he casts himself to be? And can’t Todd just once in his life do something good for America rather than his network and those in power?
