Discussion: Charlotte Mayor Blasts Trump For Claiming Drugs Are Factor In Protests (VIDEO)

When did Donald Trump become Church Lady ? Must have been after his glory days at Studio 54 where the liberally available cocaine and ecstasy fueled the dance floor foreplay and on premises sex that the rest of us got to read about and see hints of on the Reagan Era Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous TV fare. When did Donald Trump stop using recreational drugs?

I’ve known Jennifer since she first ran for County Commissioner in 2004. She’s the real deal – cool, smart, liberal and a true public servant. I’m proud of how she’s handled this and the “bathroom” nonsense.

Ailes needs to zip up his pants and get out of locked intern rooms more, the hippies and the roofers don’t scare like they once did.

Charlotte Mayor Blasts Trump.

I just wish this were true in the explosive sense.

There is no indication that drugs played any part in the unrest in Charlotte.

Perhaps drugs played a part in Chiselin’ Trump’s claiming that drugs played a part in the unrest in Charlotte.

Yeah, as in explosive diarrhea.

“She’s probably no drugs. At least a contact high from all those people standing around her.”

The curfew was a huge mistake.
Not releasing the video was a huge mistake.
Riot gear for the police was a huge mistake.

She should have looked to Tulsa for the right way to handle this.

She is not in control of the police!!! Sheez.

The Charlotte mayor is largely a figurehead position.

And I disagree that the curfew was a mistake. It was NOT!

While Charlotte has a city manger form of government, the mayor is more than a figurehead, and what she says and does carries weight that belies the supposed part-time nature of the office.

It was Putney’s call and his alone whether to release the tape and how to dispatch the police.

Putney is a cop’s cop; not a people’s cop and these decisions are typical for him. Just listen to the difference in the way they have spoken on this. He has shown no understanding or recognition for the people’s anger; she has. That’s why I approve of how she’s handled this.

You can’t blame her for making decisions and when it’s pointed out that she doesn’t control or dispatch the police say she could have influenced decisions in another direction. You don’t know what efforts, if any, she made to do that.

Well, it looks like the protestors were able to stay out past curfew if they remained peaceful. Decision made by the Charlotte police, I think.

Well, actually, I can and I do.

She can influence what the police do by her public statements and her public posture on such incidents.
She could also meet with Putney and explain to him why he’s wrong and why it’s hurting Charlotte.

I’m not saying she isn’t a decent mayor or a fine person.
I’m saying she hasn’t dealt with this as forcefully or as responsibly as she should have done.

Opinions are just like assholes. Everybody’s got one.

How original of you.
