Wait no longer.
Fascinating analysis. If I were in the US, on this basis I think Iâd welcome the repeal of obamacare. If itâs true that insurers would refuse to service large swathes of the country, this would ultimately force adoption of a public option, and pave the way for a modern universal healthcare system rather than the catastrophuc of obamacare.
The US has both the most expensive (by far) and worst healthcare system amongst developed nations. Obamacare is a failure. That itâs by some measures a bit better than the previous system is cold comfort.
The funnest part of this, I think, is going to be watching the GOP/Teatrolls in congress do nothing to save themselves because, even though Faux News itself is publishing a poll that says 74% want the GOP to work with Dems to fix the ACA, all of their constituents have been programmed to mindlessly reject ALL polling. Their kneejerk responses run the gamut from the bland staple of âfake news!â to the crowd favorites âHillary by 12!!!â and âHillary in a landslide!!!â Faux News and the rest of the conservative propaganda machine literally TRAINED these idiots to vehemently deny and remonstrate against anything that they donât want to hear, so now they canât even take the advice that might save them. Itâs fucking delicious.
As a cancer survivor i always look forward to being uninsured for a preexisting conditionâŚ
Sheesh
Thanks GOP
You over there with national health which drives people to private insurers are in no position to comment on the US healthcare system which for all its faults provides healthcare and particularly Medicare and access to VA. Medicaid itself will save many lives, help women give birth to healthy babies, and treat our opioid crisis. If our government were run by smarter people and by that I mean the selfish men in the House weâd have single payer.
So let me get this straight. Congressional health care is exempted, right? So whatâs the problem?
You have a relative named Ned who sells insurance in Punxsutawney PA, right?
Include in the 32 million who would lose insurance the 24 thousand premature deaths that would occur.
What also needs to be stressed is the national security implications of having a substantial portion of the country uninsured. God forbid there is a outbreak or pandemic such as Zika or Ebola, a terrorist attack or superstorm itâs more efficient and effective for emergency services that people are insured. Plus itâs less expensive and weâre all better off. A businessman ought to understand that.
They wonât be satisfied until theyâre allowed to saw poor people in half in the basement of the Capitol.
So when are they going to follow each other off the cliff?
And they will still vote for the cheerers.

Yup, the GOP just wants people to die. All of them are wannabe murderers
I believe if we reduced salaries to mim wage, take away retirement, and health care from about 600 people in the U.S. the problem could be solved.
Your comment doesnât really make sense, but clearly we agree that a national health service would be a better system. And so arguing over whether or not to keep obamacare, which entrenches private healthcare, is hardly a good way to achieve that aim. Get rid of it.
Weâre not getting rid of it, and clearly weâre not getting rid of you either.
You feed them onceâŚ
Itâs just giving them a choice to live where there are no insurers. Why do you hate freedom?!
